Colours & colour blindness

So as opposed to a few barely being able to tell green and red apart they opted for everyone barely being able to tell red and pink apart... Sounds about right

Dark green vs dark red would probably cause more issues than light pink vs dark red.

There were complaints about a match earlier in the season (Man Utd v Liverpool?) from red/green colourblind TV viewers who couldn't differentiate between the two solid shirts.

I would be one. It was easy to spot the difference with the pink, I'd struggle with the green.

Pink. Divided into it's two main contributing colours.
RED and WHITE. Preferably in stripes.

I know pink is supposed to be a lighter shade of red. But it is much more of a contrast than red and green.

Being a bit colourblind i had no chance with the red/green against liverpool. I went on shorts and socks if i remember right.
Didnt have a problem the other night though.

I still can't get me head around the pink kit. It's fucking vile. Both home and away shirts are quite unpleasant to look at.

Luckily the green shirt makes up for it, and then some.

It will be the stuff of legend in years to come that we beat Man United at Old Trafford while wearing pink shirts

.... is shit.
I understand having it as a fashion item and as a 15th away kit, perhaps wear it once in the cup to make it "genuine", but for fuck's sake, choose a colour and design to get the adrenaline pumping. I half expected them to skip out onto the pitch.

I'm partially colour blind, specifically red / green so its definately easier for me to distinguish between the red and the pink

could it have been a bit of tactical genius in that it made the Manure players have to think for a split second longer and not be able to pick an instant pass?
On that basis we should have played in grey - their players wouldn’t have been able to see each other based on the infamous West Ham game and would have passed it to us all the time.....

Skip onto the pitch? Because it's pink? Come on.

If the kit had got the adrenaline pumping we might have beat Manche, oh, wait...

P.s your sexist stereotype opinions aren't needed.

Pink shirts are supposed to be psychologically imposing. As despite its feminine associations, it is supposed to suggest that someone is confident and pays attention to whats going on around them. Also with a strong interest in how they’re being perceived by others. I noticed Barcelona were wearing one the other night so there may be something in it.

I have complained quite a few times to the Premier League about using Red v Green in matches. As someone who previously wanted to join the Green Arrows as a kid before I found out I was colourblind, it is really difficult. I had a similar issue at the lane last year when we played Brighton which instigated my first complaint. They assured me that it was considered and kits are decided 3 weeks before a game etc. I wrote to them again after the Liverpool - Man U game and said they had obviously ignored my comments! Good to see others have also complained.

My little lad is colourblind.

Here is what we see.

Much easier to see Pink, than Green
What made the Brighton game last year worse was that both clubs wore Black Shorts. This meant you were totally reliant on the shirt to differentiate. I know we play in red and white but last year we had a solid red back so from behind, particularly at a distance, you could not see the difference at all. In the main I know the players so that made it a bit easier, although I got some stares for screaming about misplaced passes, that were actually perfect passes!

I knew that'd rattle some cages. Firstly, to counter your first point, do you really want me to list the games where we've played in pink and lost? Secondly, if you really believe that pink is not associated with femininity in any way, shape or form, you've created your own little PC bubble that exists outside reality.

That famous that you got the wrong team, Man U were playing Southampton when they changed their grey shirts at half time.

It's lovely. Nicest kit we have.

It's good enough for Barcelona and Juventus etc. so why not us?

As I said, I understand it from a fashion perspective. To be honest, stripes are not good as a fashion item, so fine, for those who like to wear kits around Meadowhall, etc, pink (in my view) is better than a home top. However for playing football in, both pink and green are soft, gentle, relaxing colours. If you are Barcelona I have no doubt that the psychology of the colour is miniscule compared to other factors, but despite yesterday's win I'm not ready to put us in the same bracket just yet.
No one ever said, "We need all the psychological advantages we can get, so we'll paint the home dressing room baby pink and play in pastel pink shirts."
