What a travesty it would be to not take this opportunity having taken one step back to not strive to start moving forwards on the pitch.
Only one step?
One step back going down. Another step back being in the position of NINE , yes nine , players out of contract. Another step back selling our best two players JUST two weeks before a ball was kicked this season. Another step back bringing in poor quality replacement s. BBD and Hamer exceptions.
It's going to be ANOTHER long hard season ahead. Travesty won't even come close.
And with the prospect of playing those massively deluded entitled shitheads from over the city TWICE! I'm not looking forward to it.
Sorry to be doom and gloom but I've been a Blade for over 50 years. It's what we do.

Point taken. And well made btw !!!

However. I’m as certain as I can be that this very same shit show of a squad we have had to endure this year would have been VERY competitive in the championship this last season and I’ll go top 6 as an out there prediction hypothetically. The gap is that wide now.

So if we do manage to recruit well, I see no reason why top 6 next season would be out of reach. No reason at all 😃.

I was luke warm about Wilder coming back. PH was indeed a gentleman, but he lacked experience. To have the manager and the owner both learning on the job was probably not the best thing.
No other manager was available and acceptable at the time, so we got Wilder.

I believe he has changed since coming back. The club has also changed. There are signs of good off field improvements, and that hopefully leads to better playing staff.

It will take time to make progress on the pitch and Wilder will have to wheel and deal again, but that improvement in playing staff will be slow.

The fans patience will be tested after the season we just had, but as many have said, once a Blade, always a Blade. That’s the way it’s always been.

As he’d decided he didn’t want Wes it seems unlikely he protested too much.
Seems to me a bit of CW plays him and when he messes up its a "told you so" back at them sticking Wes back in. In any case GK is only part of the bigger issue.

Didn't want Wilder back it was only ever a move to appease the fans. What is he going to do better than Hecky could with this shower of shit. You could tell we were in big trouble if you went to the Stuttgart friendly if not the first game against a fairly poor Palace outfit should have been ringing alarm bells. Having said that were we actually that bad in the opening few games I thought we should have got a point at Forest and maybe all three at Spurs we certainly deserved something from those games. We were very close to beating Everton at the lane too. I'm not sure at all what happened at the Newcastle game but I do think other factors were at play with the news about the well liked Maddy Cusack none of the players seemed to have their minds on the job and from that day performances just went downhill.

Anyone could see we were going to be relegated and we could all see why so no point in going over it again apart to say it was a shit show. For me they may as well have stuck with Hecky playing Wilder ball as bring back the real Judas to play the same old Wilder ball. Yeah he made all the right noises, we had a mini new manager bounce and looked to be more attacking but the defending just got worse and worse, we looked better but ultimately the results were the same.

So what do we get with this 2nd coming? A Wilder who looks to have spent a fair wedge of his £4m on ale so just a fatter version of the same scruffy looking cunt who can't find a razor blade. He can say what he's gunna do every interview but that don't mean it will happen. I'm not convinced after his stints at Boro and Watford they need gunna's in the Army tho. Be interesting to see if he can walk the walk after all his talk about how he's gunna do this and gunna do that. One good thing about Hecky going is the serial loser McCall and that defence coach went with him yet we still have to wait to see any improvement. Does anyone really believe Wilder has changed from the stubborn 1st version who played want away Lunnycunt over and over we have seen how he continued to plat Grbic and Norwood who are clearly not up to it. I think we will more than likely play the same old 3-5-2 have the same old puzzling substitutions that Wilder is famed for and at best be mid table. Prepare for a decade of Pigs ascendency they will do the double over us next season at least bacon Rohl looks to have a plan and a clue how to implement it.

No enthusiasm for footy anymore I don't see the point in promotion to the corrupt Premier league with everything geared up for the top six to win they may as well play each other in a mini league to decide the title the other 14 teams can't compete even Man Utd are struggling to keep up. Rule changes every season more subs and changes to the FA cup format is all bollocks to favour the top six. Probably the main reason I have not renewed my ST along with crazy kick off times and moving out of Sheffield.

That rant has to make you feel better. Good to get it off your chest.

I give him til the start of the transfer window. Wilder talks about getting with players he wants, meetings with the owner etc. First day of the new transfer window I want to see at least one player signed. We know what division we will be in, we know what are finances are, no excuses not to have one in. Otherwise, it's more talk, talk, talk.

I know managers say its not easy but we definitely need majority of the new players in for day 1 of pre season.

I remember some pre season games last summer we were playing youngsters that were never going to be involved for the season. (Freckleton, Neal, Marsh etc.)

Could this have contributed to existing threads?

Not sure you can see Hal sucking the prince off in any of those.

Not watched the video as I can't be arsed wasting 21.17 minutes of my life, (with all due respect YorkBlade).

The answer is a definite fuck off no. I wouldn't trust Chris Wilder to rebuild a basic lego set with full set of instructions and my dad reassuring me he was a qualified structural engineer.

I didn't want him back and there has been absolutely nothing to convince me that he is capable of rebuilding a squad to challenge next season, the opposite in fact as demonstrated on saturday by taking a striker off on 74 minutes and replacing him with a defensive midfielder....did we even register a shot on target thereafter?

Wilder is done. Get him out before he causes anymore damage and get something new in, preferably Steve Cooper.

Not sure you can see Hal sucking the prince off in any of those.
I have regularly pointed out his failings and point out how resource poor we are as a club in this very video.

I have interviewed him twice, where both times I just asked questions from this forum rather than my own.

You must watch some fairly tame stuff on PornHub if this constitutes 'sucking off'.

In all honesty didn’t want him. I didn’t like his alleged walk out the first time. His 2nd Prem season was a disaster. He did a poor job at Boro and watched him deliberately barge into a rival manager during a match in a huff.
He rode the «one of own » bandwagon a bit too much for me.

I’d have overlooked all that if he’d done the business for us which he clearly hasn’t.

A manager should be judged by his results

The only sure thing about next season is someone on here will find something to complain about, where ever we finish.....;)

I don't have any confidence at all about this pre season, Wilder must be rubbing his hands and saying "this is my level now, I'll wheel and deal like I did before", telling the Prince he can do it again etc, etc, it's all about him. We need to be thinking of the future, there's too much Sheffieldunitedness in the club, the media look at us and laugh, "that scruffy little club and that, has been badge pumping, always moaning about he can't compete against bigger clubs manager". We need a complete change of staff and owners, players must look at us and think I'm not going there! unless they're surplus to requirement( not good enough) other clubs. We've got from a great 3 years and a massive high to rock bottom, desperately hoping the same man can relive the dream again, I hope I'm wrong, but that's what is atm, just a dream
I don’t bit any of that - players would love to come to us (or anyone) if they pay then the right money. It’s the “ethos” badged as something else.

When we buy better players and start winning, the “ethos” will miraculously click into place. Decades of lost “ethos” were cured when Wilder hit a winning streak last time.

But apart from this ?...

Apparently he didnt want Grbic it was a decision made higher up.
Think everyone knows this don’t they? Brexit football is often Wilder’s criticism (I understand it) but we were rumoured for Danny Ward and ended up with someone from Spain.

I thought he said that he’s happy with the budget?
He is because he’s learnt how not to show his displeasure at not having any money, hence he is now best person for the job (prince’s opinion)

It's a standard football answer. Unless he's Mick McCarthy, Gordon Strachan or Ian Holloway then no one has the balls to say what they think. They give safe club approved answers. McCabe used to be a master of waffle lots but say nothing.
Hecky was sacked because of his disagreements. We have seen no sig improvement but wilder replaced him because he now understands where he went wrong with the Prince.

Hecky was sacked as he was dreadful mate.

Wilder inheriting his side was never going to bring results. We aren’t even fit.

Wilder has 2-3 transfer windows and then if he’s not looking good he’s toast.

Hecky decent few games at the end of his first spell in charge. When put in full charge well into a season he made the play offs and ran forest very close. A semi final FA cup appearance and promotion. Many of the players in the academy were under his tutelage. My point is he hardly lacked experience.

I didn’t say Hecky wasn’t sacked because he was dreadful but he was disagreeing with the board in the promotion season and was clearly frustrated with what the board did with selling and not investing in players (context)

I was gutted when he left, I was delighted when he came back, I still am.

Without trying to sound like Del Boy, this time next year we'll be right up there, probably still not millionaires though, let alone owned by a billionaire🤣😉!

I don’t think it’s even down to Wilder or another manager. Our next 2 seasons are down to the PA whether it goes well or not.
