i dont think we`ll walk the league, but will be there or there abouts.
If they approach the season with the right attitude that is.

This negativity is doing my tits in-if people want us to fail, and call themselves supporters then fuck off to s6.

What a load of old horse shit. Why should we "fuck off to S6" just because we can see the reality of the situation? Should we have "fucked off to S6" at the start of last season when it was obvious to us that we were a relegation side?

I honestly believe we`ll do well in this league, there are some shit teams in this division-hoofers-and if its going all to dannys plan,we could play a lot of teams of the park.
The trouble is if we dont do straight away-the boo boys will be taking there shoes off.

I honestly believed we'd do shit last season, and we did. I also think that with the squad we have, the new manager who gives me no inspiration whatsoever, and old Superblade still doing fuck all to save the club we'll do shit next season too but hey, what do I know, I just tell it like I see it rather than 100% Blades like you who prefer to clap and smile a lot.

You really don't have much of a clue do you, but it doesn't matter, at least you're a happy boy......or are you a girl? It's so hard to tell these days :croc::badger::croc:

I just tell it like I see it.....

That's the thing about opinions, isn't it? You can tell it like you see it, but you can't tell it like anybody else sees it. Still, there's always the lenners approach. Patronise 'em. That worked a treat before.

Aah yes, the Lenners approach. Tell it exactly as you see it, no swearing, no name calling....but get banned for disagreeing with the mods. Says quite a bit doesn't it, toe the line and clap or else

FFS how old are you, 12? Running off to mummy because some nasty man didn't like the same sweeties you do? Without there being the mix of people with the mix of opinions we don't have a forum. I disagree with banning of people no matter how controvertial they may be (obviously there are some comments that shouldn't/can't be broadcast for legal reasons). I don't agree with a lot of what I see and read but I enjoy the debate and every now and again someone posts something that makes me rethink what I think. You could always set your own forum up and not let anyone on who disagrees with you. Lets see how long that would last.

Must be some other lenners then. The one that was on here was patronising at best, who sneered and talked down to those who disagreed with him and yet, when presented with the opportunity to put his point to the Sheffield United board made up flimsy excuses and ran off to hide.

You must mean a different lenners who wasn't condescending all the live-long day. I meant the one who allowed no opinion other than his own, and decreed that he alone spoke for the masses, he alone was right, and he alone knew the true way, despite never asking others what they thought.

Did he get banned for not agreeing? Can you back that up?

You making it up?

Try some facts.

Because without people having an opposite point of view you would have never been able to post this.

No. We're Fecked.

Lucky if we finish higher than the Pigs did this season. Too much to change and not enough time to gel.
Get a poor start and we will be struggling all season.
We never play well at Oldham - apart from one amazing 5-0 win I recall - so the start we will be looking for will be on the back foot from day one.

It may have been a while ago but wern't we the 1st to beat them on their plastic pitch 2-0. I dont recall playing them that much recently?

It seems that Leeds had that honour with a 1-0 win in Dec 86, we lost there a week later.

Reading up about them, the last game played on there is more interesting, they had to beat Wendy to win the League. Wendy were 2-0 up in 60 minutes but then managed to concede 3 to give Oldham the title.

We actually have a reasonable record at Oldham. We have played 14 games there since 1976 winning 4 drawing 5 and losing 5. In our last 5 visits we have only lost there once and our last game there was a 2-0 win on 7/9/96, Don Hutchison and Lee Sandford scoring.

think Oldham were on an unbeaten run of about 2 yrs when we beat them . Can remember being there and singing "youre getting sacked in the morning" to Joe Royle

I think it must be the game stanny mentioned. I think I remember a picture of their scoreboard sayin: Latics 0 Blades 2. It was a big thing because of their pitch. the picture was either in our next home game program or in Flashing Blade.

28th March 1990. Oldham were unbeaten for 40+ games at home as I recall and we were coming off the back of 2 defeats (including a 5-0 hammering at West Ham). We were not much favoured, but Bassett decided to play Simon Webster up front and we won 2-0 with Deane getting both goals and Tracey saving a penalty.

I remember hearing that result on the radio when I was a kid. It just confirmed my belief that United under Bassett could achieve absolutely anything. :)

Oh the old 'as a kid' statement eh.

Ha! I'm dead young me. (not) :)

My point was just that that specific result still holds a nostalgic resonance. I really thought anything was possible for United if they could break down the (then infamous) Oldham fortress.

What's changed in the intervening years - the Premiership, the rule of money and the general cynicism of age - has pared that romance down to the bone.

I remember that feeling but im not going to tell you when mine was:p Youngster.

Think it was the post from one of the moderators that specifically stated that he'd been banned for constant criticism of them. Not name calling, not swearing, just a difference of opinion that they couldn't hack.

Try some facts.

You're a prick, FACT :croc::shark::croc:

Are you on holiday again Horace?

:badger: :badger: :nana: :fatbastard::gizmo::shark::badger::gallop::tumbleweed:

Permanent "holiday" now Brownie mate, flew to the States last Friday on a one way ticket and getting used to the differences as we speak. Got me social security number today and have a few job applications in so fingers crossed.

Can't say I'll miss the footy too much, my game and my club died when Sky started ruling the roost, and reading some of the shite on here just makes me realise that the game I loved is no more, and the brotherhood that the hard core supporters forged has been replaced by a bunch of namby pamby little scrotes who clap like seals and know sweet FA truth be told. Way too sanitized for me, the new breed are welcome to it, it suits them and they fit right in to what the money men want, blind faith.

Anyhow, must dash, I'm 8 hours behind you lot and off to the baseball tonight so keep the faith mate, look after ya sen and I'll keep in touch whenever it's possible.

Mart, as you well know there was a bit more to it than that.
