May as well of got a straight red and miss all three. Win win for allHas anyone thought that he may have been told to get a yellow? Miss the Norwich and Brum games so that he's available for Wrexham? He was going to get that yellow sooner or later so why not now?
I'm not on the get rid side. We are not going ro get better than Hamer in midfield next season. Sign him up again, he's only 28 and still has 4 to 5 good years in him.
Maybe Wilder prefers Hamer for the home games than the away games? I dont really know. Why is playing against Wrexham more important than playing against Norwich or Birmingham?
It did look like that. He should've been booked in the first half, too, actually. He seemed intent on getting a yellow.Has anyone thought that he may have been told to get a yellow? No bloody wonder he mistimed it if he was looking at ChrissehMust admit from where I sit, it looked as if hamer was looking at wilder before he initiated contact and that it was done to get a card. I'm probably reading too much into it but it stood out to me at the time
I agree with part of that. But Bamford and Rothwell will probably be important players and the other two probably will be gone in the summer(?) with expired contracts. We’ve got to treat next year as a breath of fresh air and new era, and as much as I have loved watching Hamer, it’s just time for it to end.
The only issue with having a breath of fresh air year next year is the money we’ve thrown down the drain on expensive wages as we’ll be watching Bamford, Rothwell, Ings, Mee and swanning around earning over £100k a week between em effectively contributing naff all
Is that definite with those contracts? Bloody hope you’re rightI agree with part of that. But Bamford and Rothwell will probably be important players and the other two probably will be gone in the summer(?) with expired contracts.
When he was with us we had a squad of dross and 3 good players. We had Hamer and Gyokeres scoring and setting up all the goals that made up for those we constantly let in. Hamer ran the show nearly every game in the middle. The second best 1.5m we ever spent. He is limited on the left. In the middle he can put them balls in on both sides that releases players.
That’s as close to an assist as you’re likely to get, a fantastic delivery. He started against West Brom and didn't get an assist.
Or was this before the West Brom game?
I would tend to ignore what happened under Selles. Your squad was much better than that.Selles played him in a central role and he was atrocious. I do feel hes been better on left but dare say whats around him matters too

The one thing you're missing with him being on the left is his passing ability. It's second to none. With him in the middle he can put the killer ball in anywhere a player finds space. He had a great understanding with O'Hare who would go anywhere on the pitch and Hamer would play him the perfect ball.
Probably why he ended up playing central midfield for a middling Coventry team and then only got to join a team that were dead certs for relegation.Gary Neville - limited ability, not pacy - but wringed every ounce out to make a very successful career
Kinda can’t help but feel Gus could have been so much better than top end championship with a stronger application
It’s frustration for me as he does things no one else in this squad sees, let alone can pull off on his day
Same as every other game he's ever played for us then.

When we went to two central midfielders it was inevitable he’d be shunted out wide as he turns over possession too much and in a 4-2-3-1 he can’t be trusted in a two and Souza was better alongside a fit Arblaster. Just a question of whether Hamer or O’Hare went central in the three. I think both are perhaps more suited to a three, but we don’t play 4-3-3, though with Brooks and Bamford it would only take the right wide player to make this happen.
With lesser players this season there is an argument to have made him more of a focal point and gone 4-3-3, a bit like Wednesday often used to do with Bannan.
Wasn’t it his cross that was slid in ? Is that an assist ?He started against West Brom and didn't get an assist.

Yes it was his dangerous cross that forced their defence in to an error. As good as an assist though.Wasn’t it his cross that was slid in ? Is that an assist ?
Shame !Nah.
You can't register an assist off an own goal because the opposition are in possession of the ball as soon as they touch it.
I'll shoot you.Blades player gives ball away trying to do something positive = “he’s shit, get rid”
Blades players runs around a lot but does nothing productive = “get statue int car park”
Then you’ve got Coventry fans on the thread telling us how best to use last season’s Championship player of the year after he chose to leave them and come to us because they’ve happened on their one good season in the last 25 years. Shoot me.
