Simply enjoying the matches

It’s the fist time in years, - in fact I’m not sure I can remember the last time - when we’ve been nailed on to finish mid-table with no chance of the play-offs even, and no chance of going down. As a result, for weeks it’s just been about enjoying the match every week for me - meeting up, seeing a fair amount of goals, no VAR. It’s been weird, and of course I’d rather be top of the league, but there is something oddly stress-free and enjoyable about it.
The worry is long-term if you’re not on your way up, then you’re on your way down. But for now, I’m enjoying each match.

Whilst enjoying the games is a brilliant experience, the reality is that, if we don't go up we're probably going to be selling our best players.

Once we start selling players we'll go backwards and patience for a rebuild will be in short supply.

Sadly a true reflection of modern day football.

I do wonder whether sometimes we get tied up with the destination and forget a little about the journey.

I’m as guilty as most looking at permutations and re-assessing what we need after each game.

In truth you can lose sight of the smaller picture. Just game by game enjoyment.

Yes, we lost yesterday. But was it exciting? Yes! Was it deamatic? Absolutely! Was it disappointing? Yes. But was it soul destroying and debilitating? Not at all.

Perhaps the way to take on the bigger picture is to adopt the cliche of simply looking at the next game. Can we go to Portsmouth and to enjoy the game? Have we anything to be scared of? CN we attack them and take the game to them?

Some complained we were results focused last year and not entertaining. Now we are getting entertainment. Ideally we want both, and perhaps had Wilder been on the recruitment he might have been able to mix the two.

So let’s just have some fun. Don’t worry about the grand scheme of it all. That will take care of itself. On a match by match basis we can better any of our incoming opponents so let’s just enjoy seeing the team have a go!
Let’s be honest if you want glory don’t follow United . We always have drama , good and bad . Imagine supporting some shite bogged down team who don’t have the highs and lows . Seriously if they did a tv drama about us you would say it’s as far fetched as a bucket of shite from china 🤔⚔️

Not a fan of those who are cap-doffing and kowtowing to table-topping Boro. Be honest - if we'd played and lost like that to a team at the wrong end of the table, you'd all be fuming! 😆

I would probably have enjoyed the game a LOT more if there was something on the line, which there wasn't. As was, it was just Boro looking really good while we endlessly hoofed to Bamford, continually lost possession, showed little, then when we stole a goal Rothwell went full retard minutes later. If there was anything to play for I would have been incredibly invested. As is, I didn't give a shit and it was just the better team won and another 90 minutes towards the rebuild that should have been taking place last month but didn't
