Appears that Burnley are in a bit of turmoil and the fans are not happy..
They’ve sold or are about to sell the following:-
Johann Berg Gudmondsson (sold)
Scott Twine (sold)
Sander Berge (sold)
Anass Zaroury (sold)
Wilson Odobert (sold)
Muric (sold)

Dara O'Shea - off to Ipswich
Manuel Benson - off to Leeds
Josh Cullen
Wout Weghorst
Luca Koleosho - off to Wolves
Mike Tresor

Looks like the big spending gamble last season for zero reward was a massive mistake.

Their fans think it’s ALK asset stripping to repay themselves what they put in and the fears people had about their takeover are about to be realised.

Good news for us if they implode!

Makes one ponder a little deeper about our US consortium owners

I'm sure they're in it for the love of the game and SUFC in particular.
So no worries....
Be careful what you wish for.
Let us hope our current owner is sincere in saying he wouldn't sell to asset strippers/aka venture capitalists.
If you trust the Yanks you're an idiot.

No doubt that they are in trouble & having to balance the books. Kompany did well to exit when he did. Quite simply they HAVE to go straight back up this season or they will be in deeper trouble.

This is a risk with any US investment group. They are fundamentally in it to get a return on their money. It is not a long term strategy.

So we will no doubt get some immediate investment this season, but the pressure will be on Wilder to go up to the Prem to reap the riches there.

Cullen is the big one there - where's he going?

Can we nip in and take Brownhill as well....? Souza replacement

No doubting Burnley are being stripped bare of the quality that bossed the championship and had a go in the premier league.

To say we were written off by all, we’re still unbeaten and are still untouched (squad wise) from what we started with this season. Us not being fancied and strangely being in the midst of a takeover has helped us, because we haven’t got a squad or many individuals that think they’re too good for this level and the management team have known from the outset we’d have to beg and borrow players into the club.

Pundits backing Burnley and Luton probably thought they’d sell no one while fans of all clubs sat there and admired the football of poster boy hype job managers.

I don’t know mate, I took the list off their forum.
Was missing from their squad yesterday with a ‘slight knock’ along with Koleosho- maybe they have their own strain of ‘Beattie Flu’ in Lancashire.

I didn't enjoy last season at all, it was embarrassing. But it did feel like we took absolutely no risk on trying to stay up (probably because we couldnt) and now feels like that wsnt such a bad idea.

No idea how a team does get promoted and stay up without a huge financial gamble... only way seems to be a team gets lucky with their academy generating a generation of potential PL stars...

Chelsea owners are in it to make a profit too.

As are Liverpool

And Arsenal.

And Fulham

All US owned clubs and all very different

Burnley shipped 15 players so far this summer banking £80 mill. Still 5 days to go.
Very true, Wilder said he still wants a couple in on top of what we have but if Burnley are wanting those players too they will have the financial muscle to outbid us.

Perhaps the Yanks only saw that Burnley were a former PL club and overlooked it's population of 78000. It's a tiny hovel in Lancashire with minimal money making opportunities. Bury FC would have been a better investment as it's bigger and has Manchester to call on.

The fact that Weghorst is still at Burnley says a lot, don't think he's played for them since they got relegated in 2022.

I've always thought Burley are one of the best supported clubs for their population.

They probably wouldn't have had to invest as much to get Bury and get them moving.

Luton have still got pretty much the same squad and have added McGuiness from Cardiff. They've had a poor start but I expect them to be thereabouts at the end of the season

Yes he said he wants a couple but by the tone of his voice he doesn't sound confident he's going to get them

Fair comment. Less than 10% of them have passports so “cutesy lil old England” is viewed as a quaint town by comparison

Lost Barclay though who was their stand out player last season. Replaced him with Baptiste who is nowhere near the same calibre.
