I spotted a Wednesday player in the Babbacombe model village. It was Barry Bannan. They wouldn't let him out cos they thought he was one of the exhibits.Spotted a blades shirt at babbacombe model village and another one on the cliff lift on the day of the Southampton match.
The kids wear their footy shirts on holiday sometimes, for casual wear during the day, not for going out in the evening though. I've never worn a footy shirt for anything other than playing footy. I can't think of anything worse than people shouting at me in the street, or wanting to get into a conversation about football, when I'm on my holidays. I go on holiday to see places, soak up the local culture, enjoy the food and drink, and relax. Not to chat "Blades" with folks from Sheffield - I can do that any night of the week.
We did a Ceefax job some years ago. Something like £180 for 10 days in Turkey, including flights and hotel. It was one of these where you get assigned your resort and hotel on arrival, we'd no idea where we were going exactly. Turns out we went to Olu Deniz - which is actually quite a nice place - beautiful lagoon, but we didn't think much to the hotel. It was a single storey building, half way up a bloody mountain! Nothing nearby. We checked in to the room, two small, hard single beds. Not great! Then we got changed and went around the pool and it was full of Brits with their various football shirts on, playing loud music on their portable radios, smoking and playing cards and making a hell of a racket.
We stayed just the one night. The next day we hired a car and went touring and we didn't come back. We visited some really interesting places and found some great hotels, where we had peace and quiet and luxury. Of course, it was an additional cost to do that, but having paid next to nothing for the holiday (the flights alone would have normally been £180) we just thought, sod it! Let's enjoy our holiday and take the hit, because we wouldn't have enjoyed it staying in that place with all the raucous footy fans.
I am one of course. But I've no desire to let the whole world know about that when I go on holiday. It's not a positive image imo.

I may have seen one or two - on my travels around Europe. Mostly at the airports drinking pints of lager at 6am in the morning. On our last family holiday, last year, I didn't see any. Then again, I didn't expect to see any here...Yeah, anyway, back to the subject ‘Blades spotting on your Jollies’.................................I suppose we can put your total down as none then, eh ?![]()

Gavlar I didn't have the shirt on but I was one of us on the beach and spoke to a Blade with a young one. It was the day of the Everton match, seeing if there was anywhere to watch the match.
