Well done Brownie, bringing us back to the real issue here, Sheffield United and what is happening at our team. For myself I am very optomistic for the season ahead, I think the manager has been shrewed in his dealings and from the games I have seen we can look forward to a very good season.

I have no faith in 'cheap as chips' , when the crunch games cum he will fc uk up.

I thought I was being quite civil with the word moron to be honest but I guess some people get much more offended by it than I do. I also thought it was quite in tone with the rest of the thread as it starts with someone calling KB an idiot and I think I've got a right to defend him.

Anyway reasons why KB is nothing like Nobson.

1. Nobson completely destroyed the team spirit of the club and the fans - Kb has done his best to reunite the team and fans and I feel bring back the United ethic.
2. Nobson spent a fortune on high priced big name charlies and almost got us relegated - KB got these same players performing and almost into the playoffs in half a season starting from the awful position Nobson left us in.
3. Nobsons stats must be among the worst of all United managers ever - KB stats are one of the best for a United manager.
4. Nobson had no personality - KB has a personality even if people dont like it.
5. Nobson didnt have a clue what it meant to be a Blade which was proved by his comments before the Derby - KB knows what it means to be a Blade.

How do you think KB is going to do more damage than Nobson Beighton? if we'd kept that clown here we would be bankrupt and in league 1 by now.

There are plenty of teams in this division who would be grateful to get a point against Middlesborough and West Brom.
We, however, shouldn't be one of them..we have to beat these teams. We should be good enough to do so and especially at home. They are key matches.

Just like in almost every other sector, including mine, managers are judged on results. At the moment, like or loathe the method, he's top of the CCC tree. If he improves at the same rate he has since coming here, next season he'll be a PL manager.

Only thing that is almost guaranteed is that he will get the sack at some point!

i think in both cases we were the better side you can't judge opening day fixtures as for WBA we f.u.c.k.e.d up at the back that was all these things happen i think its the next 4 games we need to take maximum points from against average sides at home and close away games again against average sides who won't make the top 6 can't see us getting 12 points from the next 4 the question is who will we f.u.c.k up against???

...and you are entitled to it. I would say how did we do last season relying on two unknown youths and loan players?
I still think we can expect some coming in on loan plus us turning down bids for Killa would point to the fact we are quite confident of contract talks.
But something doesn't add up with the harper deal why haven't we signed him on a full contract?? reading this article Reading don't want him back and if he helps us to a successful season all the big boys will be in for him. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5531703,00.html

Something isn't quite right why waste another loan player when you can only have 4 on the pitch and 5 in the squad. we have 4 now playing first team football there isn't room for another. Bunn, walker, treacy and harper

Maybe,

1 Harper wants to keep his options open for the summer.

2 We did the deal too late to register it as transfer so it had to be a loan

3 Another good reason that doesn't come immediately to mind.

With regards to the arguments and discussions, that's what this forum is for.
But as far as the name calling goes then it's only a matter of time before Linz gets out her banning stick. She'd probably say something along the lines of "play nicely or else" in bold letters too.
She's a very easy going person, but the main problem with kicking a tiger up the arse is sooner or later it'll bite your leg off.

Too much Smoothflow Breadbrain??:hello:

What about from an administrative point of view, us taking over the contract. It sounds easy enough but in real terms they would have to agree between them to cancel his contract and then we would have to offer him a 8 month deal.
Maybe it is more complicated to sort out than it seems or maybe it will happen in January. I certainly hope so because it ties our hands somewhat in the loan market.

1. Nobson completely destroyed the team spirit of the club and the fans - Kb has done his best to reunite the team and fans and I feel bring back the United ethic..

COMPLETELY DESTROYED? That's harsh.... Morale may well have been down but that's it.

The only United ethic Blackwell has brought back to United is the long ball. He's split fans as well.

2. Nobson spent a fortune on high priced big name charlies and almost got us relegated - KB got these same players performing and almost into the playoffs in half a season starting from the awful position Nobson left us in..

Robson didn't spend anything, he requested a number of players and this was granted. We can't really say the people he signed were bad players - because they were far from that. He just couldn't get the best out of them.

KB did fantastically when he came in, the team looked good and we played some nice attacking football. However since he was made manager permenantly of United - that ceased to be the case.

3. Nobsons stats must be among the worst of all United managers ever - KB stats are one of the best for a United manager..

Can't disagree with that - but stats only tell you one thing.
4. Nobson had no personality - KB has a personality even if people dont like it..

Strange comment.

5. Nobson didnt have a clue what it meant to be a Blade which was proved by his comments before the Derby - KB knows what it means to be a Blade..

Blackwell showed exactly what it meant to be a Blade when he left us to go to Leeds for a lesser position.

no ones asking you

He's more than entitled to his opinion.

Deep breath...... now in English please?

Strange comment.

I dont think its a strange comment, I think personality is very important in a football manager. They have to motivate the players afterall and I think someone with a personality can do this much better than an uninspiring monotone Robson. How could he inspire anyone to do anything oter than commit suicide.

Were you in the changing rooms at all when team talks were being given?

What evidence do you have of this claim?

All his interviews and the way he got good players playing so badly and not as a team. Never once saw him enthusiastic about the Blades. Always sounded and looked hungover.

He probably was hungover :) he still had a personality though even if you didn't agree with it.

I suppose you can class boring, monotinous and unispiring as a kind of personality but to me its not a personality suited to football management.

Blaming everyone but yourself is though?

Because that is Blackwells' style.

Even if that is Blakwells style his results vidicate it. If Robson had got us to the playoff final or had anything like the results Blackwell has had I might believe that his lackluster pasionless attitude was actually quite effective.

Results speak for themselves and the results say that Blackwells style works.

Blackwell has no style, no class, no panache, and no plans. But unfortunately we are saddled with this loser until someone at the top realises that Blackwell will always be a nearly man, never good enough to be a WINNER.
The world is full of nearly men and unfortunately for us Blades we have one in charge.
I Liken him to another nearly man Gary Megson - and I don't see many Blades giving him the time of Day never mind 100% backing!

best results of any SUFC manager, saved us from relegation, almost got us automatic promotion, started season brightly, all in the context of having to sell some prize assetts and reducng the wagebill enormously. The football isn't as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as we'd all like, too much of the time. That said, the "hoofball" tag is a gross simplification used by simple people.

There's a thread on here about what's gone wrong at Sheffield United. For me, it's fans like you and Beighton - you make me cringe and I despair that you "support" our club.
