Not tryna wind up - trying to make my working day go faster ;)

For both of you....

But we're a 'couple of signings away frmo being a top 4 side' apparently.... so even if WBA, Newcastle and 'Boro are all better/as good as us - then surely we should already be a top 4 side - without the need of a 'couple more players'

Time will tell come the end of the season.....

I never said that had to be awe inspiring, but I think you're getting ahead of yourself if you think that Bunn, Treacy, Reid are better than what we already have.

I'd agree Ward gives us something which we previously didn't have.
Harper looks very promising.
Evans is gonna be a star.

While I'd agree on Evans the others are improvements.

Bunn can play through the Winter for starters so is an improvement on Benno.

We didn't have anyone on the wide left last season so by default Reid and Treacy are an improvement (although Treacy seem to switch between both wings).

Harper should be an improvement on Howard and Quinny.

I don't think any team in this division is better than us apart from those that came down from the PL. We are a top 4 side, I firmly believe that any improvement now just close the gap on the relegated sides from last season.
Again labouring a point but none of the sides currently above us have had to play two relegated teams.

Looking at the squad it is stronger than last season certainly going forward. We have more width, better striking options and now a better central midfield pairing.
The starting team at Wembley was Kenny, Walker, Morgan, Killa, Naughton, Monty, Howard, Cotts, Quinny, Halford, Craig Beattie. Don't you think our first team is now stronger and certainly has a better goal threat?

Bring on the loans.

Some of the comments on here are pathetic. You can tell theres an influx of people come from BU.

We are 5 games into the new season. We are unbeaten in those games. We have played 2 of the teams that have come down in Boro and West Brom and drawn against both. We have convincingly beaten weaker opposition in Reading and Watford and despite the poor first half performance we got a draw against a very good leicester team that expect to be challanging for top 6.

Some of our new signings look to be coming on quite nicely, Evans has got a couple of goals, Treacy looks to have potential and Bunn is fairly comfortable in goal.

We have shipped out a striker that cant score, an austrailian who cant play british football, a premiership has-been and a pony that was signed because the fans wanted him.

We have brought in 2 players, both of which have played consistently in the prem and championship for the last 3-4 years.

We have kept our current prized asset in Matt Killgallon.

AND STILL PEOPLE ON HERE ARE CALLING FOR BLACKWELLS HEAD........

Maybe it is because the squad is already paper thin and you are correct we shipped out 4 players but yet only brought 2 in, we are nearly upto the loanee limits and in my opinion loanees cost us massively in the play off final so relying on them is not sound management.

Well I think Bunn, Treacy and Taylor are good signings..

Bunn and Treacy seem to have something about them and I hope they carry on with their early season form....

Bunn can play through the Winter for starters so is an improvement on Benno..

Benno is a good goalkeeper, one performance doesn't make him a bad one.

We didn't have anyone on the wide left last season so by default Reid and Treacy are an improvement (although Treacy seem to switch between both wings)..

We had Carney who wasn't given a chance, and Hendrie who wasn't given a chance. So can't really comment.

Harper should be an improvement on Howard and Quinny..

Should be - hope so.

I don't think any team in this division is better than us apart from those that came down from the PL. We are a top 4 side,.

I think we're possibly a top 4 team if we play to how we can.

Looking at the squad it is stronger than last season certainly going forward. We have more width, better striking options and now a better central midfield pairing..

Going forward maybe - defensivley no.

The starting team at Wembley was Kenny, Walker, Morgan, Killa, Naughton, Monty, Howard, Cotts, Quinny, Halford, Craig Beattie. Don't you think our first team is now stronger and certainly has a better goal threat?

But that's not the starting XI that started last season.
But for your point - Main problems with that team were - Quinny, Howard and Beattie. 2 of them have now gone which is a good sign.

But we've also lost Walker, Naughton, Kenny and Halford - all of which (bar Walker) were integral to our finishing position last year.

yeh them youths coming through really cost us last season. get a grip

Bringing them in gradually is a good thing, but chucking a load in together can have bad effects, not only on the team but also on their careers.

Do they all make you ashamed to be a Blade Greg?

I can't find any negative comments on this thread from ex-BU users!

For the record I think this is a far better forum and the demise of BU was a blessing in disguise.

I am no Blackwell fan. I am still waiting for an apology for the Wembley debacle, BUT:

The signing of James Harper [if he can recover his best Reading form, which is a worry] is a giant step towards the sort of SUFC I dearly want to see i.e. effective but proper football. At his best there is no better midfielder outside the Prem than this fellow. I say this not because he has signed for us but on admiring him for some time.

I also applaud the acquisitions of Williamson, Treacy, Evans, Stewart, Little [Stewart Little!!] and yes, Taylor, who is better than many are saying.

Newcastle and Boro are off to fliers but it's a long hard season as they will soon discover. Don't get carried away by them; nothing special.

All in all my mojo, that faded badly at Wembley, is charging up again.

I cannot understand why we employ this feller.

In my opinion, he is not far short of Robson, only his 'fan club' are keeping him afloat.

Moron!

KB has completely rejuvinated this club after that tosser nearly destroyed it

Benno is a good goalkeeper, one performance doesn't make him a bad one.
Never made a comment on that one performance.
The fact is Benno's injuries mean he can't complete a full winter programme.
One game a week max during inclement conditions.

Going forward maybe - defensivley no.
I think defensively were are looking just as strong.
Two uncharacteristic error's aside against West Brom and our defence has not looked troubled in the other games.

But that's not the starting XI that started last season.

But we've also lost Walker, Naughton, Kenny and Halford - all of which (bar Walker) were integral to our finishing position last year.

But we've not lost Walker, last time I checked he was out on the pitch wearing the red white and black. If you are having Naughton and Walker you also have to factor in that Naughton would of been played out of position on the left, were he understandably looked less comfortable. I'd probably have Naysmith over Naughton at left back.
We've lost Halford, a played played at right wing with no pace and some decent ability. He would of made a good signing but in all honesty we look better balanced this season without him.
Finally we've lost Kenny, who probably won't play for us again. If the club have the information I believe they do have we probably should of moved for a permanent replacement, unless Blackie feels Bunn is that man.

If we can stay in the top 4th in January I think we will have a real chance of automatic. I still think the 3 relegated teams could have premiership vultures picking at their bones for the ex-Premiership players. Come January the teams struggling will want proven Premiership players (i.e. Beattie last season) and they will go calling on Boro, newcastle and WBA.

One game a week max during inclement conditions. .

IS that true?

We play a decent attacking side and they score 2 goals from 'mistakes'. It shows you that it can easily happen against the better strikers.

But we've not lost Walker,.

For this season we haven't. It's something we know we have to replace come end of season....

If you are having Naughton and Walker you also have to factor in that Naughton would of been played out of position on the left, were he understandably looked less comfortable. I'd probably have Naysmith over Naughton at left back. .

I'd prefer NAughton there to be honest - whilst he doesn't look as comfortable as he does RB, he still gives us a good option going forward and some much needed pace in the squad.

We've lost Halford, a played played at right wing with no pace and some decent ability. He would of made a good signing but in all honesty we look better balanced this season without him. .

Buit if we're thinking of playing France there in away games like against 'Boro - I'd take Halford every time

If we can stay in the top 4th in January I think we will have a real chance of automatic.

Hope so :)

On the wings were better no complaints there bar why did it take so long :)

In mid one good signing but not enough cover :) :(

strikers like ward and evens not very convinced about Henderson with Billy gone to dony witch is good for him leaves us a little bit short up front

Defense very weak no proper cover for Morgan and killer who still hasn’t signed a contract could go in January bad situation to be in

Blackwell’s satellite football and late subs and dodgy man management and media work and ability to attract players not good enough

Relying on youths and loan players doesn’t fill me with confidence slight concern

That’s my opinion

...and you are entitled to it. I would say how did we do last season relying on two unknown youths and loan players?
I still think we can expect some coming in on loan plus us turning down bids for Killa would point to the fact we are quite confident of contract talks.

this transfer window has been poor its great we have some width but whats with 2 cb's 4cm's one injured and 3 attackers
get out my club blackwell your an idiot

You cannot really call somebody an idiot with spelling mistakes and hope that it is taken seriously can you? :)

No it doesnt but to compare KB with Robson is moronic

I dont understand why you cant be civil to people, the constant reference to morons and people being moronic says more about your good self than it does about the people you are trying to either offend or wind up. Please be civil. Thank you

YOUR opinion.

IF you wish to discuss that - I don't like the way we played under either manager.

KB has certainly improved 'results' in comparison to Robson - but that wasn't exactly a hard thing to do.

The football wasn't/isn't good under both managers.

cheap as chips will do more damage to the Blades than f!0pp0.

time will tell, hope i'm wrong but i think i'm reight.

I think we've got serious problems on this board when people are bandying around foul and abusive language such as "moron". I don't know how I'm going to sleep at night. ;)

I like your sarcasm, but we havent had people being rude for the last four years so why should we have to tolerate it now. I suggest closing your eyes may well aid your sleeping patterns

It starts with moron and ends in rather more abusive terms being used.
Stop insult flinging before it starts then you don't have a problem
Don't deal with it and end up like more childish forums where it's a free for all of insults.

Well there is no point in calling me an idiot as i already know i am one!!!

Seriously, at the moment we are in a decent position in the league, not done that badly in the transfer window (even Len seemed in a cheerful mood yesterday), still unbeaten and have loads left to play for this season.

What i can't quite grasp is why is there all this mudslinging and arguing going on backwards and forwards at this early point in the season where it is not all going badly.

:gallop:

PS. I wonder if Linz can let us all have a head banging against a wall avatar?
