3 wins from 3 since world cup & 1 defeat since cov in October. we are doing this with all respect billy sharp upfront, so can only get stronger when our other strikers are back fit. like Brewster & McBurnie

& i dont remember seeing utd in such a healthy position. to be 11pts clear of Blackburn with brereton contract issues & 13 clear of Watford. i just wish we could kill off games. because make making games that should be comfortable. very nervous

4 from 4

Another hard fought win. We were better first half with the attacking players linking up well. We could have had more first half but we were also slightly shaky at the back. Second half we looked to take control with the second but they scored and it visibly lifted them and they were much more dangerous.

Wes - 6 - Got away with tipping one onto his bar which moved but generally ok. Not sure what he was doing with much of his distribution though.
Stevens - 5 - Looked sluggish and slow. Was unlucky a few times but looks laboured and slow.
Robinson - 5 - First game back so you can excuse him a bit but looked rusty. A few slightly iffy moments but nothing major.
Clark - 6 - Struggled with Madine for 60 minutes until he was passed on to Anel. Did a decent job but lacking height. Kept at it though.
Anel - 7 - Likes to get forward and was unlucky a couple of times but there was also a big hole in our defence which they failed to exploit. Did well when handed responsibility for Madine but his timing of challenges worries me. Needs to work on that.
Bogle - 6 - Good to see him back and he causes problems going forward but poor defensively. Got sold easily once and doesn't do enough to prevent crosses coming in.
McAtee - 7 - Improves with every game. Great composure and finish for the goal and looked lively going forward. With Berge playing further forward he had a more withdrawn role and was at least competitive.
Norwood - 7 - Another good game. His set pieces weren't great but did a lot of good defensive work. Actually looked tired at the end, for once!
Berge - 6.5 - Took his goal well and on a few other occasions did well going forward but also lots of poor touches and takes an extra touch which gives them the chance to get back. Still, best game since his return and looked to have much better stamina.
Ndiaye - 7.5 - Probably the difference again. Not everything came off for him but he's a handful all the time. Never gave balls up and got another couple of assists for his trouble.
Sharp - 5 - Whiley pro who knows how to run a line. Kept going all game but ultimately looks a half pace off where we need a striker to be. Put in a shift but we were lacking an outball as the game went on.

Subs

Baldock - 5.5 - Game on for Bogle who looked shattered in his first game back. Did ok but a couple of very rushed passes.
Doyle - 6 - Didn't really have a chance to get stuck in as it largely went over his head.
Lowe - 6.5 - Came on and gave us more energy, but a bit rash at times
Jebbo - Came on for the last few minutes and pressed

Hecky - 7 - Another 3 points but another grind in the end. We need to be putting teams to bed when we can because we'll start dropping points at some stage. Picked a team good enough to do the job and managed fitness but we're lacking a few on the bench still.

Blackpool - I thought they were poor first half. Looked nervous at the back and little upfront. The goal gave them a new lease of life and it became a scrap.
Hecky needs to teach this team how to keep control of a game after going 2-0 up. There is a consistent pattern of us allowing an inferior or beaten opposition to get back into games in which we should be under no threat.
Make no mistake , there are plenty of games to come against better opponents than of late.
I'm very happy to have the points because we'll need em.
We've yet to visit Burnley, Blackburn, Norwich, Watford, Sunderland, QPR & Reading - 7 of the top half.
Let's hope we start by getting revenge at Loftus Road.

Do you honestly see Brewster contributing more than Sharp after such a long layoff with his perennial dodgy hamstrings ?

Sorry if I've misunderstood your post but surely the reason Hudders, Wigan and Blackpool comprise the bottom

His post was a bit nonsensical
We have all had a beer and got carried away mind

3 points is 3 points. Let's catch Burnley

Calmed things down well when there was a bit of aggro. Then invariably gave the decision to Blackpool!

Not a single card shown. By half time, he’d given them 10 free kicks, 16 in total. For a big lad, Madine has a poor sense of balance.

Ndiaye on the other hand just keeps going when he could fall over and got virtually no free kicks, I like that and I hope that when he inevitably moves on, he stays that way.

We’ve visited Watford, before we realised we are much better than them.

but by the time we play them, some of those teams could be in the bottom half.
Also if we're down to play several of the top teams away, then logically we must be down to play several of the bottom teams at home.

We're in such a strong position that losing all 7 away match to the strong teams and winning 7 of the home matches against the weak team will see us promoted.
21 points from 14 matches is the type of form that should be enough.

Assuming no other clubs goes on an incredible run (which doesn't happen very often)
we can afford to be moderately average during the 2nd half of the season. All we need to do, is avoid a collapse.

Forest last season, WBA and BORO this. Just under half the season left, lets not get carried away.
