Even before our promotion I couldn’t see on what basis they claimed to be bigger or better. Certainly not on teams, infrastructure or attendances.

Now we’re back in the Premier League we simply blow them out of the water on every single level. It’s not even debatable.

Financially we’re now on a different planet.

Investment in the training ground and Bramall Lane is going ahead this close season. Bramall Lane will probably be sold out very single week highlighting the fact our ground is not big enough for us until it’s significantly expanded.

Meanwhile they play in a dilapidated stadium which hasn’t seen any meaningful investment since ‘96 and which has sections closed off because they can’t get a safety certificate for them.

Blindly clinging onto yesteryear and ancient history is merely desperation on their part. They believe if they keep saying it, it makes it true. It doesn’t.

As we approach the quarter century mark of the last time they stained the top flight they get more and more seen as the smaller Sheffield club by more and more of the wider footballing public. Anybody under the age of 25 will never have seen them in the top division, indeed most will barely have seen them in the top half of the 2nd tier.

Older, bigger, better in their heads only.

United - Younger, fitter, stronger.
 
Now, now, now lads, let's not be too hasty with this older claim. As I've pointed out in another thread we are older than Liverpool, which by S6 logic means that we are.......

Naw, can't even convince myself on this one, it must take a special level of delusion to believe that it matters in the real world.

I find it hilarious that it's all they have left. Whilst in reality for me it matters not one jot.
It's crazy how you can invent such shit when you're in a deep hole.

Could you imagine if we won the Carling Cup up there? That’s their only claim to fame and it was 25 years ago.
 
Older yeh it's bizarre, Notts county and many other (all due respect) small teams are as old or older, means nowt, same as the "we sold out our away end vs sheffield park steel" "we get the highest attendance in this league " did a lot for Leeds, villa, Derby etc . Udders foolham and Cardiff all I believe have more than Bournemouth, made no difference, won no points.
ATM the Blades are the top team, in 5 years, maybe it's Barnsley in the prem, support your team, why bother what any other team is doing?

So Sheffield Wednesday have been around for all of 90 years while Sheffield United have been around for 130 years. Go figure.

(But don't take Wikipedia as gospel. It also states:

'Since 1899 the club has played its home matches at Hillsborough stadium, a near-40,000 capacity stadium in the north-west Sheffield suburb of Owlerton.'

Near 40,000? That's going back a few years/decades.)
 
They reformed on 8 June 1990. This move led to them avoiding Corporate Manslaughter charges (although they claim it is most definitely not "Classy" to mention this).
They traded as Middlewood Development Company until changing their name to Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Limited on 13 May 1997. Seven years later the Milton Keynes Dons were founded and fans of Middlewood Rusties labelled them "tinpot".

I just find it totally bizarre as in real terms it earns you sweet FA! If anything given they had a head start on us surely they should be the bigger team in the city if it's at all relevant so their age advantage is actually a failure.

Me trying to point out the irrelevance is just met with daft comments like "it hurts, admit it".

Besides it being all they have left to cling on I'm baffled!

As an aside can I ask anyone that doesnt care about this either way just scrolls by rather than commenting on something they dont care about but take time to comment telling us they dont care. :)

Older equals better eh??? Guess they need to shut the fuck up then when it comes to Sheffield FC and admit the city really belongs to them playing non league footie at Dronfield. Ridiculous, really is. The nonsense thats been spewing from the sty and its grunting occupants this whole season has been that of a delusioned cult, refusing to accept reality. If they are really better than us right now, then why are we now in the top flight of English football, while they finished 11 points outside the playoffs, losing the last game of the season to a team in qpr who are thanking their lucky stars right now they'll still be in the championship next season? Out of both teams, who has spent the most and gained the most in terms of recruitment from the spending over the past few seasons? But im sure they'll have a valid reason for why they've wasted more money than us and have what they currently do to show for it (a squad filled with dead wood which their manager is now trying to clear out). Did the squad Wilder inherited from Adkins cost anywhere near as much? I dont care what anyone thinks, the levels of bitterness from us when we were in league one and them now that we're in the prem arent even comparable. They need to move on and get their own shit in order because come next season, the last thing any of us will be thinking about is them. COYRAWW!!!

Nicely put. They’re coming across as very mardy and spitting out the dummy.

Accusing our manager of showing a lack of class (they choose to forget Dave Jones when they pipped us) and claiming they (the fans) wouldn’t act in exactly in the same way if they’d won promotion and not us.

They’re saying things like it’ll come back to bite them on the arse” and “our time will come soon enough” and “revenge is a dish best served cold”

It’s almost as if they’re too thick to realise that’s exactly what it is happening to them now in response to the last six years of absolute crap we’ve had from them.

It has come back to bite them on the arse.

Our time has come.

The whole argument of that 'we are older' is just fucking stupid and laughable at the same time.

Obviously yall know more about how Wednesday fans operate than I do,but from just my short time being a Blade I have seen and noted just how deluded and downright ridicoulous their fans really are.

Let em have it over us as being older; we'll be playing the Man City's and Everton's while their playing the Blackburns and Wigans.

We are in way better shape for both the short term and the long term, whereas they are a long way off from catching up to us not just league wise.

Dumbasses.

The cabbage patch doll took a month off after getting the job at the sty because he knew they had a few hard fixtures coming up. It didn't go unnoticed that he took the managers seat when they started a run of games against teams mostly in the bottom six and with the advantage of three defenders loaned from Premier league teams. Sure he is getting shut of a few and he might have them going for the play off's next season that is if they manage to avoid a points deduction. Have they submitted their accounts yet btw ? Still we all know once again in August HMS Piss the league will set sail down the river Don from Penistone road
 
As far as the 'older is better' claim then im afraid to say that is just total bollox.

My Grandparents are all older than me. But today i shall be enjoying my life and having a good time, whereas they wont despite being older, cos they are all dead.

Wednesday are about to be cremated.
