Did anyone catch what that guy on commentary said a few minutes before Billy scored?

Something along the lines of "Billy Sharp finally getting the chance to come to a big club in the Galaxy. It'll be interesting to see if he can continue his progression" WTF 🤣🤣🤣🤣
 

Sometimes it makes me sad, though… Billy being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

That was Kevin Kilbane. He was just bantering with Luke Wileman who was over-egging it the other way.

Claimed Billy being on the field had given them a boost for the second goal even though he hadn’t touched the ball at all in the move!

He looked good though. Took a good snapshot that the keeper only stopped with his legs and for the foul on the penalty he was already in prime poacher territory for converting the cross.

Agree it's a great move, can't be bad living in and around Los Angeles

but there's no way he'd sign a 2 week contract for us because after we bring in a striker (Archer) or 2...Billy wouldn't make the bench...
so his main contribution would be as glorified mascot in and around the club improving morale and encouraging others.
He's a great role model, so would be an asset but think he wants to play.....and that was always unlikely once we were promoted.
Shame he couldn't have been slotted into the coaching team....but I suppose he'd just be duplicating what Jack Lester does.

Also having Brooks or Hackford on the bench (for limited matches) at Premier League level is part of their development/ education.
 
Hope he carries on and earns himself a contract. Get at least 18 months out of it.

Says all the right things, doesn't he? His honesty will probably go down we there, you'd think.

He certainly didn't dress up the performance.

With his drive and desire I hope they get through to the Play Offs and he gets to extend his stay there.
 
He had branded water, however someone removed the bottle and peeled label off before placing it back in front of him! 😂 Absolutely ridiculous rules. Similar happened during world cup from memory and players discarded branded bottles they weren't aligned to.

I missed the earthquake but experienced some of the storms last weekend before flying back to Melbourne. Shame I wasn't there a week later as would have gone to watch Billy.
 
He’s definitely going down the Schteve McLaren route and speaking with an American inflection soon isn’t he?! 🤣

I’ve had to wait 4 weeks for a visa interview for the US and Billy gets sorted in a week, I’m obviously earning a lot less than he is!

I was thinking about this earlier and I was internally debating whether or not LA Galaxy is the club with the biggest reputation internationally he's ever played for. I mean, it's MLS but after Beckham-mania they are THE MLS team people worldwide will have heard of....

The Galaxy are the 6th most popular club in the United States. Not just clubs in MLS. Period. Including clubs in La Liga, Prem, Liga MX, etc.
