Best time you ever had in S6?

Glyn Hodges had assumed he was going to save it and had already started jogging back.

I was there and don't recall Hodgy jogging. In fact in the entire time we had him, I don't recall him everjogging. He was pretty quick with the elbow but generally expended the minimum possible effort, while spraying the ball around beautifully.

In addition to various Blade wins there from 92-06, I also went on the Leppings Lane with Manyoo fans in the late 80's (a Manyoo mate had a spare ticket). I think 'we' won 2-1 and I didn't have any problems chanting 'United' or 'Come on you reds'.

The only problem was when the silly buggers sang 'We love United, we do'. They insert an 'Oh' in the last line, so I got the odd funny look.

Beating them 2-1 in February 06. Probably Akinbiyi's only real contribution that season/during his time with the Blades but what a hit! Spoiled it for himself a bit second half when heading over from under the crossbar, and then we were actually clinging on at the end but what an atmosphere it was that day, United a genuine class apart for 80 odd minutes. Worst time I had there was unfortunately just under 2 years later under Robson, rotten performance and deservedly hammered 2-0, should have been 3 or 4. Hope to never see such an effortless display in a derby again and I've got full faith in Wilder to put it up them next season, home and away.

Tempus fugit. To my amazement, not one mention of Birchenall yet.

Probably serenading Chris Woods in the rain that magic, never to be forgotten night, when the Pigs had bought two crates of champagne ready to celebrate a victory.

Although I wasn't in S6 at the time I chuckle every time I go past

My friend is a specialist metalworker

The firm he worked for got the contract to make the brass or aluminium football (whatever metal it is) at the top of one of their stands and my mate got the job of making it

It has got SUFC engraved into it and I believe it is still there to this day

I saw Pele in the early sixties Santos match. Doesn't come much better than that I suppose, well not until Tony Currie signed!

I can remember doing a dump once in Hillsborough co op once in the early 90s if that counts?

Well, I live in S6 so my best memories would probably be non football related but in terms of the footy, D'Jaffo smashing past Pieman for 2-0. First derby we'd won in a long time,

Apart from all the above mentioned Blades successes, I recall going to see a night match the pigs played against Man U in the late 60s, Wednesd*y were the better side for most of the game and were winning 1-0 with about half an hour to go, Best had been anonymous but suddenly switched on, or shook of his hangover, whichever, for 30 minutes he became unplayable, scored two and made the other for Brian Kidd I think, never seen anything like it before or since.

Course it counts, Weasel. was in Ecclesfield one night when I got chatting to this tasty piece. Took her back to her place on Burrowlee Road and smashed her pussy in.

That's in S6.

That was a good time.

She was actually. She was the cousin of a lass I was seeing at the time which made it all the more sweet as that other lass was on/off with her boyfriend. Heartbreaker I am.

Sadly that was it, though.

I used to drink around S6 every weekend when doing my apprenticeship. Blue Ball, Shakey, Masons, Legends - not very welcoming to Blades I'll tell ya

Thought that Pele and Santos qas in the 70's? Reason I mention it is that I was there and learned his proper name, Edson Erantes du Nascimento. Only good time apart from the 1-3 in the nineties.

You're probably not quite old enough. I was only 9 but have vivid memories of the occasion. Pele was past it on his second visit unfortunately.
