It’s very well documented when a season starts, it’s therefore a fucking minimum expectation that with over three months notice we should be putting out a competitive side from the off.

Not waiting til we see who’s here by the end of the fucking window.

It’s embarrassing and offensive to every club in the league, not to mention those who would have given a shiny shit and at least tried from the league below that would love to be in our position.

What's also vital are the three previously-winnable games that we seem to have sacked off. Those are few and far between at this level, going into the first with, say, Osborn and Osula is beyond negligent.

This is what really pisses me off…. We should have been ready and firing for these games, playing catch up from the get go.

We could have lost 5 on the bounce by then. Starting well is key, given the fixtures we had. Look back to the last time, where we were unlucky in those opening fixtures, that lack of luck became a massive monkey on our back and we turned shit, not winning until January.

We don’t have the luxury of waiting until game 5. It’ll quickly turn even more sour and we’ll be in hole we can’t get out of.
 
I could understand the logic of letting him go for a decent fee, IF we had replacements lined up. It just seems a strange move for Berge. Surely, he would be better off letting his contract run out and getting a big signing on fee next year.

It is the reality of where we are following blowing our financial stability on expensive but poor players.
What would you suggest we do ? Load up the squad with more average players ? It doesn’t make sense.
 
A shame but ultimately I think it's the right call to get money for him and Ndiaye while we can and reinvest into young players on permanents who can stick with us if we go down and put us in a strong position.

Wouldn't be surprised if we let Jebbison go as well if we can get a few mil for him.

Had wondered if this was on the cards as Slimane pretty much plays in Berge's role anyway and had forced him into the middle and Traore is a similar second striker type to Ndiaye

I'd understand doing that if we had replacements either already here or lined up - currently it looks like we just sell them and ask a 16 year old academy lad to do it

I agree, may as well cash in on Anel as well, we can't risk him running down his contract either. £2m should do it, then we can reinvest the money on a quality replacement like Jay McEveley or Craig Alcock.
