And the loansHe meant after this one![]()
The reason Villa are keen is because they have spent too much money. Something we cannot fathom. They have to sell someone for £18m or face FFP sanctions. We won't pay that sort of money and looking at other options. Structuring a deal like this was probably the only way we play ball. I just reckon there could be a twist in the tail about the transfer getting OK'ed by the PL.Kind of, but it's not a win win for Villa if he proves to be shit in the Premier League.
Effectively this is what I was talking about on another thread...a sell back clause for us....but its the first time I've seen a deal that on paper seems to favour the buyer and not the seller. If he's good we keep him and have an appreciating asset and if he's not we sell him back at a 2m profit.
I'm assuming there must be a buyback clause in there for Villa in case he's a raging success? If not this is as good a deal as we've ever done
We've not signed Archer yetThis aged well…….
Great masterplan if you ask me! Archer and 1 more and like i said we can more than compete with the teams mentioned. Most players for the squads you mentioned would walk into our current starting 11. Every player Forest had on the bench last Friday would have done and they’re one of the worst teams in the league.
I get being hopeful and trying to be positive, but some of our fans are delusional if they think this is some masterplan by the Prince and there’s nothing to worry about.
It’s late August and we’re bringing on kids who’ve barely played in the Championship.
Like fine milk.This aged well…….
Correct on that scenario but would have been different if Archer had signed earlier, unfortunately villa played hardball with money.Pretty sure Akpom never indicated he wanted to join us,it wasn’t the fee or personal terms, the other interested clubs were far more attractive than us.We are going to be in a battle to stay up this season and he wasn’t up for the fight.
Don’t be surprised to see our business is done until jan, Hecky isn’t a happy bunny at the minute. He’s still seething about Akpom.
But, apparently that is exactly what Wilder didIt would be extremely concerning if the manager is tunnel visioning on "must have Akpom" rather than "need a striker" then trusting the scouting team to source said striker(s)
El Accounto is tapping out and Nuking his account from orbit. Say it ain’t so?
Just what I was wondering. This is the type of info that is fed to find a leak.
He’s had your pants down there brother jono_t2000

Surely even you can admit there has been significant movement today that suggests that whatever you were fed, was not true at the time and is not true at the minute? If anything changes in future and the deal falls through, the info you were given at that time was objectively false.May be duff info may be not. Not everything comes off.

It happens a lot mate.Surely even you can admit there has been significant movement today that suggests that whatever you were fed, was not true at the time and is not true at the minute? He may do it in short controlled bursts. It's the only way to be sure.
