Be prepared for disappointment

Have any of these ITK'ers actually been spot on with anybody we've brought in this season? genuine question!! Anybody suggesting we're playing catchup, we are not the only team to yet get a point on the board we are only 1 point behind a team that has spent £900m and seem to be buying anybody that another team shows interest in, apart from 1 or 2 teams there hasn't been a great deal of transfer dealings done as of yet but expect that to now start ramping up. I genuinely think if we can get a AM & ST in we will have a serious chance of staying up... Everton Burnley Luton Wolves Fulham Forest Bournemouth are all teams I feel we can definitely compete with on the field.
Most players for the squads you mentioned would walk into our current starting 11. Every player Forest had on the bench last Friday would have done and they’re one of the worst teams in the league.

I get being hopeful and trying to be positive, but some of our fans are delusional if they think this is some masterplan by the Prince and there’s nothing to worry about.

It’s late August and we’re bringing on kids who’ve barely played in the Championship.

Don’t be surprised to see our business is done until jan, Hecky isn’t a happy bunny at the minute. He’s still seething about Akpom.

Prepared for disappointment is our default setting! 😁
Next Blades aFan bitting point will be a week tomorro, we’ll all be thinking they’ll be late night medical and paperwork. Sky will have a report int car park and lights will go out about 8:30pm.

Memories of a transfer window where expectations were high but Lane was in darkness and we were trying until ‘t last minute. Memory not to good but with about 20 mins of window closing Sky news flashes up Tonge sold to Stoke

Wouldn’t be surprised at all at no more permanent incomings, expecting a couple of loans on deadline day or there abouts.

Whether it us right or not that we won't sign anyone, it does worry me that nothing seems imminent and we all know if you leave your business to the end of the window there's always a chance that you don't bring in who you really wanted and either have to settle for second/third etc best or just go with you have because those available to bring in are not of required quality. It's getting far too near the deadline for my liking now.

I would be surprised, because there's absolutely no way we don't do any more business in the summer window.

I give you 0% chance of being correct with your ITK suggestion here.

If you do know something, which I'm starting to doubt, you'd be better off keeping your mouth shut. Loose lips sink ships and all that. But then you wouldn't get the attention.
This is the Rumour Mill section of a football forum. If everyone kept their mouth shut, it wouldn’t exist. I feel like people just get a bit too deep on this sometimes.

This club is going to be in one hell of a mess in 12 months time!!
Though will announce current players new contracts (if they manage some) the same as new players.

Obviously they seem to be fooling many for now, but slowly the realisation will hit. I’m not sure what’s best, being able to see what’s coming early and be angry but prepared for it, or happily going along forever optimistic and believing they have a cunning plan to sign some quality players and see us compete.

I’m afraid I’m not believing much of what this owner and board are saying, for me it’s clear they only tell you what they want you to hear and paper over bad news.
To be in the position we are now, despite promotion, and in a return to the richest and most watched league in the world where most players strive Tom play is frankly a disgrace.
And those responsible need to be up for the chop for this shit show. It’s simply not acceptable to be chucking kids with pretty much zero first team minutes at any level into the team for premier league matches.

Wish someone would buy this club and clear the lot of em out…Bettis…the lot needs to go.

Mad that the same people keep following and responding to all the ITK threads, saying it’s a load of bollocks and they’re not interested.

I have nothing else going on this morning

Green tick or red cross for these ITK'ers should be applied.

I’d tend to agree with you but whatever his faults (we’ll know better in 8 days) he’s proved to be a ruthless businessman taking McCabe clan down in spectacularly embarrassing fashion and fleecing the conman for £9million quid.

We've had 3 promotions a religation and Wembley cup runs under him. I’m guessing (blindly hopeful) he’s gonna get a buyer and investment and if I can last another 5 years I might see some improvement to us becoming a top club.

Edit, it’s the hope that kills ya

It’s funny that people pining for ITKs lap it up when it’s positive, but when it’s not what they want to hear, they decide it’s a crock of shit. Funny.

He's not being ITK though, he's just stating the bleeding obvious!

We will have at least 2/3 players in by the end off the window.
Correct. The standard of them / cheapness of the deals can always move and be up for debate between the fans. We might even use the excuse of Archer was our target and we saved the money on him because there was nobody else that justified the same spend.. BUT we will get 2 to 3 of the targets in we want, whether that's high on the list or low on the list. Again, unfortunately if we can't land one soon they may all push back to deadline day or the majority might. Our options are fluid and there will be plenty of decent players that substantionally upgrade us on loan. The ITK game isn't easy as the information you are fed has huge caveats and usually that is Betis and his 'misely wait it out number crunching penny pinching slow ass dealing'. He will sit and smoke out the best of them. Our business model is to squeeze every last drop out of a deal and that creates delays.

Only Betis 100% knows the live state of play on how he is thinking, Tommy Doyle (changing his profile pic) doesn't, Billy Sharp (waiting on his contract renewal) doesn't, the numerous players we are linked with (who more than likely have given us the green light that they would be happy to come on our terms) dont and neither do any ITKs on here.

If the info Rifleman has is true then I am almost certain money is going out of the club and being used for other purposes.

And when it comes to January there will be no transfer activity in as per the lockdown relegation season because, as before, we’d be dead and buried by then.

We're not necessarily 100% screwed without a high profile striker signing, but if we don't get one it's putting a hell of a lot of pressure on McBurnie's shoulders when he's back fit. Also means he and Brewster more likely to get rushed into playing before they're ready, increasing chance of injury relapse.

Cool story bro! Show your working.

i think rifleman could be 50% right still think 2 loans will come in before the end of the window but i also think our 1 permanent signing very much depends on whether villa lower their valuation of cameron archer if they dont that money will be saved for january

Wouldnt surprise me if Hecky was disappointed but my understanding is that when he agreed to become our manager he already knew that he wouldnt be as "hands on" on transfers as Chris Wilder was.

Of course there will be activity in Jan

Our new owners will see to that 😁😁😁😉

If we don't spend the Ndiaye and Berge money then people have the right to be angry. They weren't in the original budget and Hecky said he was told the fees brought in were available to spend.

By any reckoning we got at least 30m for the two of them and possibly more. If we assume the original 20m was spent on Souza et al and 15m on Hamer we should have in the region of 15m left. Spend that on a striker ( and/or big wages ) and bring a couple of attacking midfield loans in and I don't think we can have any complaints.

Wasn't Akpom our top striker choice?
I've been trying to work this out too but it would mean trawling back through all the comments but once again if people are just guessing it means nothing. First time I've seen reference specifically to 'top strike target' though 'top target' was banded about a bit and I assumed that was Hamer.
Wasn't Akpom our top striker choice?

Him and I’d say maybe more Tillman. Our current top striker choice now.
Bloody hell I don't want to sound like I know better but 2 guys who have had one good season each should not be top targets.
Maybe this part of our scouting system is wrong, I mean when was the last time we bought a top quality striker who have proved themselves?
(McBurnie being the most successful and that's not a great shout.)

Out:

Illy £18?
Sander £12?

Total £30?

In:

Traore £4?
Hamer £14?
Souza £9?
Silmane £1.5?
Larouchi £1 loan fee?
Trusty £5
Davies Free

Total £34.5?

Complete guesses but that’s a net £4.5 spend based on sales leaving £15.5 of our original budget on transfers / and I believe we are told wages were separate.

This is why Origi makes sense as he would come mainly from the wages part as would another loan from the prem.

This would leave a large chunk of change for a striker say £12mil and is probably why Archer is out at the minute.

But based on my ramblings 3 more signings should be achievable and are desperately needed.
El Accounto saying our net spend is currently around 6m so you’re not far off there. Funny thing is when this rumoured 20m budget was talked about El Accounto was saying it wasn’t true but trying to put a positive spin on it so it came across we had more.
