Makes you laugh, he was only supposed to miss about 3 games its a joke
It's no joke!! ligament injuries are slow to heal sometimes.l mentioned this in a post sometime ago.
Cruising 4 up against Swansea in the last minute Bash came steaming in right in front of where I sit (in front of Hecki as well) you could see he had done something with the way he went down.
He is a big player for us and been badly missed.

I was reasonably encouraged by what Hecky said to be honest. It doesn't sound like Bash is far away at all, and Billy is even closer.

That is Basham all over though. 100% fully committed even if he didn't need to steam in to the Swansea player.

Dr Blades14, I didn't know you worked for the club. Should you be sharing this priveleged information on the forum?

When ever one of our players gets injured or “it’s just a knock” or “it’s just a precaution”
You don’t see them again for about 8 weeks.

After the last 3 months the only thing that Heckingbottom says about injuries that is guaranteed to be true is when he says someone is out for the season.

I will believe any of our injured players are back when I see it.

A fair amount of the hope we all took from those press conferences was also aimed at removing the pressure from the debutants. In the build up to Forest I'm pretty sure Heckingbottom hinted that Basham and/or Baldock would be available, probably to lessen the chances of Forest spending their entire tactical session before the game targeting the very raw 18 year old Seriki. Same for Gordon at Millwall.

There was another press conference before the break (can't remember which) where Heckingbottom said that he had hidden the extent of Basham's injury from the public and that it was always going to be April at the earliest.

Shame about JOC, but I genuinely think his career is over. Still not even kicking a ball after two years out is incredibly worrying for him.

I was told back when this thread started that Bash was out for the season, then the club have said various things since then even hinting he'd be back straight after the international break. The fact he's not back on the grass regaining fitness worries me that what I heard is right.

Oh, I know it’s deliberate. He’s admitted as much. Which is one of the reasons I don’t believe a word he says about injuries unless he says someone is out for the season.

Was there a number of games required for Basham to activate the extension by the club? I think that his personal fitness standards and commitment to the club deserves another year at least!
If the club don’t take up the option, I’m sure others will. I hope he plays for us again this season.

I don’t come on here to read common sense posts. Please desist immediately.

I’d guess our managers concerns are more to do with players, injuries and team selections than keeping members beds dry.

Be really sad if Bash isn‘t back before the end of the season as I think its unlikely he will be here next season. He deserves a farewell on the pitch.

I don’t think Bash is ready to go yet. Him and Billy bleed red and white. If they can’t see the effect he has on Egan, Bogle and Berge there’s something not right.

Blades risking a lot if we let Bash go.
I think the club know this and will keep him.
Fitness levels unmatched!
Maybe Billy's similar in his professionalism.
2 players we have to keep whether prem or championship, they are the heart of the club.
And the Serb wouldn't play Bash!,that was professional suicide.
Maybe we will have to be selective with there games due to there ages, maybe not! both been unlucky with injuries at a crucial time. Both were playing well when struck down!they will both be back firing ! It's the only way they know.

Billy might get a deal but I cant see us offering anyone else over 30 new deals of any substance, the mood music from the board is to move to a younger age, lower wages squad.

I honestly believe that Basham and Sharp are key to our future. Age, experience and heart can’t be taught. I accept the mandate to bring youngsters on, but the pride in the shirt needs to rub off on the talent we have.
Young players are exciting, but often they lack the dedication and love for the club. Basham and Sharp should be the ambassadors to instill those qualities in young men who need to learn the man’s game out on loan, and love for the club from examples set by our dedicated heroes. I’m sure they would sign on for less money if they were allowed to pass on their passion for Sheffield United.
This season has shown the value of depth of squad with some high levels of experience. Both men offer great value to a club that needs their qualities and passion to pass on to the next generation.
