Bashams injury

Only injury where we can chalk it up to an impact injury during a match.
Still baffled why Bash went steaming into that tackle near the boxes.

Totally unnecessary as we were cruising home and they were gone.
The game was dead or so I thought then Bash went into a totally unnecessary challenge and here we are now.
I think Bash will be thinking it was a silly thing to do.

There's a clue in his name!

Gordon is too much of a gamble at this stage, especially whilst we have a proven Championship defender in Ben Davies available, albeit a left footed one.

The two options available to us are just playing Davies at RCB or moving Egan to RCB and putting Davies in the middle. My preferred option would be Davies at RCB as that causes minimum disruption to the backline, as moving Egan across would mean playing two players in unfamiliar positions which isn't ideal.

Wolves play with Kilman at RCB, he's left footed and has been having a great season for them, so whilst unconventional it can still work.

I hope we've got Andre Wisdom in the building and training with the team to get his fitness up.

That's one name you wouldn't mind joining from the free agents pool.

He's currently at Brum getting minutes in his legs, looks 'rusty' Bowyer says. Offer him a deal til the end of the year.
Good shout that, Birmingham seem impressed with him too. Thing is he'd only be coming as cover to Baldock though. at Brum he may well be able to get into their first team easier. We're probably not going there anyway!

I blame myself for this. The previous week I declared Basham as being “invincible”.

Good news re he doesn't need an op, bad news, it doesn't sound like it's going to be a quick return, hope I am wrong!
There’s about 8? weeks left of the season and he’s in a brace with no movement whatsoever, he isn’t returning anytime soon unfortunately.

We’ve had some unbelievably bad luck with injuries this season, I feel for Bash and us of course as we might never see him in a Blades shirt again because by all accounts he needs another few games to trigger his one year extension. 🤦‍♂️

To be honest I think he has done more than enough this season, especially considering Slav leaving him out, model pro, kept working, didn't push for a move etc to warrant a contract extension

I obviously think he has too but we don’t give the contracts out unfortunately and rumour has it that if we don’t go up this year all the top earners and ageing players will be on their way out. Bash has been an unbelievable servant to the club.

Giansiracusa injured Basham so he didn’t have to give him a new contract. FACT

Great servant, and excellent example for the youngsters, even those that might not break into the first team, and might drop down the ladder, hopefully they reflect on his career and experience (McDonald's) and not give up.
That said, its going to be a tough decision for Bash and the club, wages versus games versus someone coming through, lots to think about, and plenty of Championship clubs would be interested in offering him a deal

The fact that clubs will probably be queuing up to offer Bash a contract (if we dont) should tell the club everything about whether we should offer him a new deal. Its a no brainer imo

Took a turn for the worse...

Might be out for season..

Sauce: daddies..

We will be at our weakest in defence for the two biggest home games of the season against Forest and Boro, any points out of those two games will be a bonus,i'm not expecting any.
