Are we all still optimistic?

I definitely think we'll win the league. I also think I've a great chance of kopping off with Kelly Brooke, and doing her up the sludge pipe. Or Dianne Abbot. I'm not fussy. Every holes a goal.
You are a sick man you think you have a chance with Kelly

Yes I'm very optimistic for next season. I don't think the Leonard transfer will happen as their chairman has rejected our bid!. leonard also has been very quiet on any potential move away from Southend which makes me think that he's not bothered either way. Wilder just needs to move on to another target. In wilder we trust

On relection realising the money some have to play with Ive since downgraded my optimism and realise we may have to settle for runners up spot

100 points is pie in the sky dreaming 88 to 95 seems a little more realistic

I think we'll aim for promotion, and I believe we could get play offs if everything falls right.

One thing we know is we are at least guaranteed to have 6 points at the end of the season.

Finish above;

Wendy
Relegation spots

And I will class it as a successful season.

Yes. Extremely.

Last years squad would have been good for 60-80 points at Championship level.

With the excellent additions thus far, with no doubt more to come, I see no reason why we should not be pushing to accumulate a points total towards the top end of this range.

Which is play off stuff. Of course losing a key player or two could change all this, but I remain positive ahead of the season.

UTB

NO. My optimism has gone completely.

Rumours, Kit Shit x many, Terrorism, Elections blah blah fucking blah.
If Blackburn Meadows flooded and the contents rolled through Sheffield, like a tsunami, only settling when it hit S6, then we might see an equivalent of the amount of shit I have to wade through in order to find anything of any interest.
Hopefully, on June 21st, there can be enough excitement generated by the fixtures to see me able to survive until August!

Tbf the player probably knows a bit better than to spout off about wanting away. We'll have to wait and see but I'd have thought he'd be very interested in a move to us.

There's "not fussy" and there's "not fussy", but Dianne Abbot?

Really?

I'd say 'whatever floats your boat', but it would have to be a special large high buoyancy boat, with that innumerate bitch on board.

All for critiquing political performance but I'd like to ask why the need for the overt misogyny? Rather somewhat unnecessary, more so given her current health circumstance. Benighted and unworthy.

But yes, very much optimistic. Especially with the prospective additions. Makes for an exciting season.

Roll on this damn new kit!

Life is futile and everything dies.

So far............but only in terms of human perception and understanding. Keep strong child of the Universe, in time God will be made in the image of Man and we will be immortal. Bloody long time to wait tho mate.

I honestly have no idea how we will do, I hope we can make the step up since alot of other teams have done, but again we could do a wigan and slip back down ,
I don't think we will do the latter but honestly not sure what to expect this season.

Ex-Russia coach Leonard Slutsky (perhaps by name and nature) appointed new Hull manager. Norwich coach - Farke - another random German appointment. There's people like Wilder who are walking into the unknown and may take time to adjust. Wilder on the other hand has been working with this team and club for a while and most of the dressing room know what is expected. Likewise, the new signings seem to have bought into his ethos.

Team chemistry is key but as CW has said, he doesn't know what consolidation means.

In any other year after a promotion of any sort (let alone where we proved our superiority so emphatically), would we be questioning whether we could possibly stay up?*
Has being a Blade come to this or is somebody getting in your head?

*Not including promotion to the fat cat league.

Is that a kelham island pub league?

Optimistic but still wary of 'optimism inflation'. Fans can too easily go from 'we'll stay up' to 'we'll be comfortably mid-table' to 'top 10' to 'maybe we'll make the playoffs' and suddenly expectations get raised too high.

My current line of thought is to wonder what shape our season will take. If you accept that we will be in and around the middle somewhere, will we have alternating periods of good and bad form, or will our results be completely scattergun and inconsistent, losing one week and winning the next.

Or will we be boring and be the draw specialists.. though with Wilder in charge this seems unlikely.

I'll be having a couple of quid on us getting promoted. Forever the optimist.

Yes I am,interesting strategy of mopping up the lge 1/2 best players to see if he can rev them all up to make it at the next level.
Wilder so good at making players BELIEVE in themselves, so he dosn't need to get 'ready made 'champ players ...he makes his own . Clever....
