He's definitely a decent goalscorer, can run in behind, has pace and would bring something different to all our other options... but I didn't really like his attitude last season.
He seemed to down tools and BBD made him look even worse.

I'd pass, to be honest. I like the look of the characters we've brought in and I'm not sure Archer fits.

I didn't like his attitude either, but if we're thinking of automatic promotion we still need another forward of that sort of quality

Ideally one good with his feet who can run in behind, exactly like him

Cannon is decent enough at going in behind. Decent finisher. Not great at link up.

I reckon he'd be a good addition, but I think we need a K Moore alternative too. Another big guy that can knit things together.

BBD coming in meant he was pushed aside having not really done a lot wrong, in fact if anything he’d done alright down the left.

I see these comments of McAtee and Archer downing tools or having a poor attitude. But they never got any service and were in and out of the side.

BBD was a very different player, hit the ground running and had more physicality about him.

Archer would certainly get goals and I’m not sure I’d focus too much on an attitude of a forward player in a side that was defensively the worst the premier league era has seen.

We seem to have forgiven or forgotten attitudes of Sousa and Anel quite quickly.

I don’t think we need to be bringing him back with the players we have available now but if Archer was offered on a decent deal I’d take it

Yes, we need both. A CF alternative, and unless that CF is of emphatically high quality, someone to play to the left of the CF as well who'll reliably score goals

His attitude would change quickly if he was in a winning team scoring for fun. I doubt the Boro fans had any problem with him

You could see in the second half of the season that his heart wasn't in it anymore. He probably saw the writing on the wall and he knew he would have to return to Villa starting the entire process of finding a club to prove his worth again.

Looks like it's a permanent deal, they are also after broja from Chelsea

I suspect he's in absolutely no rush to come back here

What he does want and expect exactly, I have no idea

Very strange just how little he did at Southampton last season

I think he wanted and expected to make it at Villa, and he's not be arsed about owt else since. He applies himself as if any other move is beneath him.

Like Brewster, that purple patch on loan at a Championship club for 5 months is drifting further and further into the past. His record since then is mediocre, can't see anyone gambling on paying a decent fee for him.

We were exceptional in that 2020-2021 spell of finding over performing players, massively paying over the odds for them before watching their form/fitness fall off a cliff.

He looked like the real deal against Everton.. and then that was it.

I still think if Pickford hadn't pulled off that worldie in the last seconds, the season would have been very different.

That might be the worst attempt at a rumour I've ever read.

(Not a pop at you, obviously).
It was laughable tbf. Posted it to provoke some hilarity. Need a fcking laugh atm with what's (not) going on at the Lane and fking bstard England (again)!

Is Wilder trying to collect that Middlesborough team that battered us in '23 like Infinity Stones? Would explain why we're linked to McNair and Lenihan every window too.

Still relative youngsters. We’ll sign them both once they’ve got a few years more experience.
