I was sat next to a 1st year Chinese student in the Bramall Lane corner stand last season.
Told me that he’s studying English and 100’s of his countryman have come over to study at Sheffield Uni, most of them to study English.
He told me that he’s from Beijing and his team are Beijing Guoan.
Said he was impressed with the standard in our 3rd tier, particularly from United.
Also said he was really impressed with our stadium and size of the crowd, especially as it’s only the 3rd tier.
Told me we were a similar standard to the better teams in the Chinese top division.
He also said his favourite player was Mark Duffy, really liked how he plays.
He said he was a regular at the Lane and would get a season ticket if we were promoted. Also asked him why he supported United and not Wednesday, his reply was Bramall Lane was nearer to where he lived and easier to get to.
In Yantai visiting the in-laws. Hoping to fire up the vpn this evening to give it a test run for tomorrow. Filled up the fridge with Tsingtao. And if so how are you watching the match tomorrow?

I was a Beijing Blade back in around 2006. Even made a few appearances for Forbidden City FC in the ex-pat leagues. I miss Sanlitun a lot.I'm the founding (and to my knowledge, the only) member of the Beijing Blades!
I'll be dragging my neutral (well more pro United than the pigs) mates into a bar probably in Sanlitun straight after work.
baijiu, the taste of defeat! very fitting as i don't think i'll ever like that stuff.Pijiu if we win baijiu if we lose!
Was there in January. My first visit to China. If I'd known I'd have looked you up to see if you could get me a photo with Hao Hang Dong.I'm the founding (and to my knowledge, the only) member of the Beijing Blades!
