I think you will find that the ones in Labour who are against the piss poor treatment of palestinians by the current Israeli govt do not hate jews but hate people being oppressed. Indeed in just one example supposed Jew hater jeremy corbyn was the one campaining to stop the demolition of a jewish cemetery in North London a few years ago, whilst Margaret Hodge, she of the 'corbyn hates jews' group, and jewish herself, backed the demolition as she wanted private housing built on the land. Many jewish people and groups back corbyn and Labour and hate the politicisation of anti semetism by the centre and right. Its a shame that no one wants to investigate racism and more specifically anti semetism and islamophobia in the tory party.

Finally, i hope the blades board do not relent on this matter. Politics has no place in football.

Why do we have to have and agree to a specific definition of what is prejudice against Jewish people? Is it not just ok that we have a zero acceptance policy against all kinds of racism and prejudice. As far as I am aware there has been zero instances of anti semitism at the lane.

We don't have to agree with definitions of prejudice against Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, atheists and agnostics as well do we so why this?

Equally has the club ever shown prejudice to Jewish people or players? I haven't been comfortable with "Black Lives Matter" because there is a political element to it, but am happy with shows of support for anti-racism (which is what I think most people mean when they say Black Lives Matter).
I don't necessarily think such things as rainbow laces really achieves what people hope it will achieve, but don't have anything against it if people think it helps.
This is something different. It is a very specific definition of how people should think and speak and isn't entirely without criticism. If someone did the same for a definition of black racism or homophobia, with corresponding conditions that were grey areas (at best), I would probably disagree with that as well.

Personally I would’ve liked to see sports/football to not to ne engaged in any way, with all of this of this politically-charged BS, all forms of it. The matter now in our hands wouldn’t be an issue, if Sheff Utd had not supported those rainbow laces, BLM etc.

In recent months/years this type of 'show alliance to us or else' extreme approach seems to have intensified. This type of tactic is pushing me away because as Sheffsteel has correctly pointed out, it amounts to bullying.

Remember the James McLean refusal to wear a poppy? Many were outraged and thought he was a **** but he gave his informed reason why he objects and I respect his willingness to stand alone with it. He politely opted out of observing it without trying to force everyone else to abandon the tradition. Fair enough, tolerance swings both ways. Why can't we let something like this be an example of how to disagree?

JM got some stick for that undoubtedly but many like myself respected his standpoint.

He then spoiled that by going out of his way to disrespect the British flag when on tour in the US, and with his balaclava stunt with his kids.

I do partially agree with him though in that he hasn't had the support from the relevant bodies in terms of the type of abuse he has received.

I actually agree with a fair bit of what you've posted here and in your previous post, but do you have to turn this discussion into a Labour vs Tory squabble? This subject can be discussed without going into outright politics, which the forum owners have asked that we don't.
