If you don't laugh you'd cry, I can see Seriki following him out of the door Wilder always was picking on them, always those two to blame if things went wrong. It will be full of flare in midfield next season for sure. I can see it now Wilders son-in-law and perfect Peck the master of the sideways and back pass ready to come on when Rothwell and Phillips are injured. Still Chong can play on the right Shackleton can be in too if not injured.

Good luck to Brooks I said last season he needed to move to progress something that was not going to happen under Wilder, Seriki needs to follow him, no point stopping at this club that has no ambition nor money by the looks of things.

I suspect there are a few fans who are having renewal remorse today. Me, I don't even get angry about it any more I'm just unfortunate to support a shit club who never win owt, a club with owners who are starting to look as bad as Mr Chansiri did for the pigs, owners that thick and clueless they brought back the busted flush Wilder.
Seriously, if you were Seriki, why would you want to stay?

Brooks comments when Selles came in:

“The new manager likes to coach a lot, so that's always good, for us as players to know what we need to do every day in training. I feel like it's been good. It's a lot different to last season. For example, he's coming and telling me what need to do. What his morals are, on the pitch and off the pitch. It's always good to have that as well.”

It's so obvious there was a rift and we all knew Brooks and Siriki would be off this window.

The best one was when Wilder blamed them both for the fa cup humiliation to Mansfield....after he brought them on at 4-1 down.
I thought Brooks and Seriki would be off this window. There seems to be loads surprised by this. After the Millwall game I replied to someone about their contracts and said I thought both should be offered massively increased deals as it would be the only way to keep them, but obviously it’s not my money being handed over if we end up with spiralling debts, so it’s easy for me to say that.

He was still wearing a knee brace 3 weeks ago which you’d think might have put a few buyers off a bit.

There are lots of possible theories about circumstances in which he might or might not have signed a new contract with us - including if Wilder wasn’t our manager, or we offered a vastly bigger / longer deal, … but the main one is surely - if we’d beaten Sunderland; in that scenario he’d have signed a new contract. Everything goes back to the game really.

Expected Gus , Peck and at least one of Femi or Brookes to be moved on .
No surprises here really apart from it being Norwich.
Decent player , far from irreplaceable, non are though, be reyt .

Norwich's transfer activity last couple of seasons has been fantastic. Dark horses for automatics and I've no doubt Brooks will look better there than he ever did here. Good luck to him.
Of course he will - he'll be played on the left wing or central - not stupidly inverted which exposes his weak right foot.

Brooks, like most of the players these days, He probaly getting a higher wage.
That's good for him, rightly so. He moves on, good luck to the Lad.
However, having said that dint expect him to go to Norwich.
So the Owners should give the money for the incoming players.
To Chris Wilder, and hopefully, he can get a couple of decent players.

I can only think Brooks was refusing to extend. But even so, he’s a player on the cusp of being a serious proposition with a value only Prem teams could touch. Yet he’s gone to a team on a par with us financially.

Whatever the reason, this is a shock move where it’s hard to see any up side at all.
Norwich are not on a £ par with us.

For a start , they haven't pissed away money on shite like we have in recent years.

Money which has now run out so we've finished our "7 years of plenty" with barely a pot to piss in.

3 years of PL money and 4 years of parachutes
What have we got ?
A bang average half-baked squad and a field at Dore. A recruitment team that needs shooting.
And distant half-baked owners who gambled on a quick-flip and lost.
But according to Wilder , his pal Bettis is a great CEO.
The whole shebang is probably the most unprofessional outfit that's ever chewed it's way though £500m.
And no one at the Lane can think beyond the Bettis Wilder combo.
Inspiring eh ?

I wonder what Rak-Sakyi's price tag is these days? I'd take him as a replacement.

Unfortunately wilder didn’t really like him either!

I’m sure I’d read somewhere that Stoke had an obligation to buy him if promoted and an option if they weren’t at around 6-7m but can’t find it anywhere now and their official site just talks about a loan.

There is also the consideration here that it’s days like this that makes me proud to be a Blade.

Fact is this is how we are Sheffield United; all bills paid since 1889.

It’s what sets us apart from the other lot.

This is the medicine you take to meet your obligations.

We won’t be posting a worst in history of football season because of it.

Spot on this!
For all the talk of Norwich being more ambitious than us they sold their 4 best players for £40-60m last season including their best midfielder to Ipswich for £10m
Yes but they aren’t signing has beens/crocks on big money to replace them. That’s the ambition.

Firstly, I am just as annoyed as anyone else that Brooks has gone. But I keep seeing comments like this - the facts don't actually back this up:

Players signed by Wilder over the age of 30:

16/17:Leon Clarke (31), Mark Duffy (30), Jake Wright (30)
17/18:Clayton Donaldson (33)
18/19: Martin Cranie (31), David McGoldrick (30)
19/20: Phil Jagielka (36),
20/21:0
23/24 (Jan): 0
24:25: Kieffer Moore (31)
25/26: Bamford (32), Rothwell (31), Phillips (30)

I'd say the majority he has signed 30 or over has been a resounding success or at least very useful. Rothwell and Phillips probably his worst two of that list. Jagielka at 36 is something of an outlier. He's signed 3 players over the age of 31 in all his years with us.
What wouldn't we give to be signing a 30 year old David McGoldrick...ah well we can all dream .
