Surprised he's re-joined Fleetwood because after how he did last season I thought he may attract a bigger lub, maybe he has, but just wants to be back at Fleetwood. Either way, all the best to Ched. I'll always wonder who re-signed him but either way I hope he does well. His goals in his first spell for great and we should have been promoted that season.

Agree....on the Sunderland forum they had a thread last week saying they should sign him because he looked so impressive when he played for Fleetwood last season.

There are a few dissenters threatening to return their season tickets if they sign him but most Sunderland fans were fine and would like their club to sign him.
However the subject about signing him threw up the same splits and arguments that we all had, so arguably his signing is divisive, no matter what.
He’ll be re-united with Paul Coutts at Fleetwood will now be dark horses for promotion. Will look out for their results mainly for the interest in Coutts.

Thank fuck for that.

There was no intent to play him this season anyway, was there?

He's not part of Wilder's plan, was clearly only brought back into the fold because we had some sort of 'duty' or 'commitment' because his daft actions and proximity to a shifty act nailed him and by the time he was out was only fit for lower league work anyway. His conviction has fuck all to do with SUFC.

We've moved on. So should he.

They've had our pants down to be honest if that bloke is right.

£250k is piss all for 18 goal strikers, even at League One level.

Still, it's nice to get him off our books.

Maybe, but the issue being that it was only Fleetwood and Bolton interested. We’ve got £250k more than we would off Bolton 🤣

On the O/S now:

If cal the blade is correct (and there's no reason to suspect otherwise) then we'll report a £200k profit on Evans' departure. Strong work.

Edit: that tweet might be from Calblade

I will add that not even Fleetwood, having had him actually produce for them last season, are idiotic enough to give him a straight-up no-incentives 3-year contract – 2 years with an option for them.

Probably the most pointless return signing of a former player that I can remember – at least Bent and Beattie were for a small number of months.

Nice Club Fleetwood.
Fleetwood might be worth a little bet for Promotion.

Might be a new man in charge there if things in court go against Barton.

Wilder confirmed he’s heading out on loan until Christmas (according to James shield)

That’s why he didn’t play tonight.

We need at least 2 strikers minimum then! given even if you don’t count brooks as a striker - We were operating with 5 last season sharp/ Clayton/ Clark/ Wilson/ Donaldson . 6 including Hanson 7 with lavery.

I think we should be going for 3 to cover us.
At last.....that over rated, not needed distraction Evans......takes the exit door left. 👍👍

Exactly. Plus he’s now 30, getting any sort of fee for him was a bonus, regardless of whether he scores goals in League One or not.

Do Manchester City get any part of the fee?
Sell on clause innit.

Booker my old friend, I don’t think old Ched
Needed bigger lub
I think he needed to stop going in dry
Sorry fella couldn’t resist it

As excellent as Evans was in the Div 1 season, either side of that he barely shone. Of course unless you're party to the why's and wherefore's you'll never have a full set of information with which to draw conclusions, but based on what I've seen ever since Evans has been with this club he seems short of the essential qualities that are fundamental to being a top forward.

The real bitter and twisted fuckwits have, and will continue to show their truest of colours.

I wonder if any of your perspectives would be different if Ched had been YOUR son ? YOUR brother ?

Please don’t respond. This chapter, for me, is closed.

Tell you what, if they can recapture some form, Fleetwood have two fantastic signings in Coutts and Evans! Great for L1.

A genuine good luck to Ched. He was unstoppable that season and I wanted that form to return. A dark time for the club and a significant miscarriage of justice. Go enjoy your football now.

It was a cheap gamble signing which didn’t work out, a gamble worth taking in my opinion. It didn’t hold the club back at all, so I’m not sure why some are showing some animosity towards him.

Whether animosity is the right word I'm not sure but some fans have just become a bit sick of the Ched saga.

It doesn't mean they don't feel sorry for the injustice he suffered but nonetheless he's hung around this club for over 7 years since his conviction generally only giving us bad press, whilst also picking up some serious money from us over his two contracts for what? Some good months in League 1.

Good luck for the rest of his career but our paths going in different directions is long overdue.

Not sure whether it was as you describe with the gamble. Too many loose ends and decisions that defied explanation. For me, it's an unlucky bad penny that needed to be got rid of to start our new chapter.
