TC and Woody were immense and in any other time would have been England regulars. Lots of others over the years showing heart and skill but these two were a class apart.

Early years: Edwards. Middle years: Deano. Recent years: Billy. Winner, by a mile: DEANO! The pig slayer.

There are many, most of mine are Bassett era players.

Deano, Agana, Hodges top 3, brilliant players, Alan Kelly the best keeper we have ever had.

However my first hero was Keith Edwards. Latter day has to be Billy Sharp.

For those that pick a less obvious choice, be interesting to know why.

I picked David Barnes (Glyn Hodges as best loan) as when I was a young kid I wrote many letters to the United players, and David Barnes used to write really long, and detailed, letters back.

One time I'd mentioned in passing about hoping we won a game around my birthday, and he sent me a handwritten birthday card and some sweets!

Clearly his fan mail quantity was not going to match that of a Deano, but the amount of effort and consideration was outstanding.

Where do you begin with a question like that..........Currie was exceptional, as was Woodward. Badger was superb, and although here for far too short a time I'd include McGrath, and then there was Morris who was a master of wing-play. I can't leave out Coutts, who, when he found his purpose for playing, was as instrumental in our success as any player I can think of......oh, mustn't forget O'Connell who had everything a great defender needs in his game, and even with that list I've missed out at least 6-7 deserving names.

Tony Kenworthy. Epitomy of being a Blade to me. Gave everything, loves the club, very underrated and hard as nails.

Based in who I've "seen" play has to be Deane. Closely followed by Edwards albeit met him a few times (and used to deliver his newspaper) and he was a bit of a miserable fucker so relegated to third.

Only player second to Deane is Michael Brown obviously, based on my avatar.

Brian Deane was my first love as a Blades fan. Then I loved Billy Sharp.

However I’d say my favourite overall is Basham, some recency bias obviously but attitude and ability wise he’s exactly what a Blades player should be in my opinion.

1 Brian Deane
2 Billy Sharp
3 Alan Kelly
4 Tony Agana
5 Colin Morris
6 Keith Edwards
7 Chris Basham
8 Michael Brown
9 Dane Whitehouse
10 Jack O’Connell

Honourable mentions for Ndiaye , Fleck, Duffy, Coutts, Norwood, Morgan, Jags. Tracey.

From my time watching games live (late 90s onwards), got to be Billy. Closely followed by John Brayford. Yes, really.

Was a shame that Operation Yewtree got him. 😉

Colin Morris and Keith Waugh when I first started going. Then Deano. In recent years Bash & Billy.
