To be honest, I'm not sure what to think. I'm somewhat underwhelmed at the moment with the TW. All we're doing is bringing in fillers as cover, which I suppose is a good thing but so far we haven't shown any real ambition by bringing in someone that's made me though Wow! Over all I feel we're trying to do things on the cheap again. The only saving grace is that Wilder has individuals and the entire team punching well above their weight. If he can get the new signings to do that then I'll be happy.

O'Connell, Fleck, Coutts, Stevens, Baldock were terrible players for the club to bring in on the cheap.Actually our signings so far this January are comparatively expensive.

If you're expecting "names" then you may be disappointed. If you look at Wilder's signings since he arrived, I'd be amazed if more than 0.1% of United fans thought "bloody hell, what a player we've signed here" at the time of announcing. I know I didn't. Look through our team:

• O'Connell - was a back-up at Brentford
• Wright - a defender from Oxford, already in his 30s, basically played his entire career in League Two or the Conference
• Duffy - not good enough for Burton!
• Clarke - washed-up journeyman, had about a million clubs, already in his 30s

There are possible exceptions with someone like Fleck, but even he had most Coventry fans happy to bin him off (reminder: Coventry are now 2 leagues below us).

To my mind, Wilder et al have a better eye for a player than any of our managers in the last 20 years (and are evidently doing a great job in developing/managing them behind the scenes). Not saying every signing is going to work out as that would be close-to-impossible, but hopefully a couple of the new players will do as well as some of the guys listed above - and as an added bonus, they're all relatively young too.
