I have a feeling we ran out of funds.... They were hoping Burke was heading out to offset the fees. Fucking silly to leave the shit right to the end.

Frustrating, really frustrating, but we have addressed some issues in this window, i.e LCB and midfield creativity (partly at least). I also think Olsen should be a step up on Ramsdale, but that is yet to be seen.

Would have loved to get some width, but it seems to have eluded us for a few seasons to be honest.

Let's hop Slav can get a tune from Freeman, Burke, Bogle and Ndiaye on the wings.
 
Very disappointing sadly.

Despite some very good loans we're still lacking in an area that we're crying out for essential strengthening.

Not sure what unattacheds are out there but much harder to find what you need in that market.

I'd love to see N'daiye given a run. Looks promising.
 
Guess maybe financial reasons behind it collapsing. Probably hit our wage budget with these loans and this move was contingent on getting Burke off.

It's almost like we were trying to sign players that were were probably never going to get

Think it was Silent Blade that said we were going for a top tier of player or a higher class.

Which is fine but if you don't get them fir whatever reason you need a back up?

We left it way too late. The deals went awry and we are stick with Burke, Brewster amd McBurnie at the top of the field!

Poor planning and to leave it to the last minute and be scrambling around and not get the key players that allow us to play a certain way.

Agree, it’s not ideal at all.

on the one hand you can knock the ambition, but you need to be able to walk the walk also. We seem to have left it too late and been left with egg on our face here.

we can’t do what Slav wants atm but I guess we have some options

N’daiye, Freeman and MGW are now options for creativity. Bogel at a push (I don’t see I’m him being that different to a sessignon in terms of converting from the back), Brewster played ok out wide.

so he has more at his disposal and hopefully a more functional midfield with CH

Only 4 months until jan 😩

only bright side would be if MGW could actually play the 10 role - and we might see more of the formation when it actually functions in a creative sense.

Exactly what I thought re collapsed deals. These must have been last minute deals because surely if they weren't then they would have collapsed weeks ago for the reasons that they now have. I mean, it's not as if they're not many good wingers out there and we've not signed one single winger! Amazing, only at United!

So we're stuck with 3-5-2 now till January or playing Brewster as wide forward but that's good because in fairness his crossing is undervalued.

various reports in Spain stating we have been interested in him for the last few weeks.

Last minute fees added on by the agent has scuppered this one. Interestingly this lad also had a move to Brugge scuppered at this stage earlier in the summer I doubt that’s a coincidence
