is he expecting 1st team or cover?
what length contract is he after?
how much money is he wanting?

if you answered all those questions with knowledge - Chris/Alan good work last season Sirs, same again please.
if you didn't answer with the known answers, can you at least wait and see.
what happens if CW signs him on a 6 month contract, £2k pw with app. bonus. Experience cover if needed, then see what happens in the jtw.
we bring in players from below and we cry for experience, we bring in on trial (nothing to loose) a player who has made a living bottom half of prem/top half championship and your whinging.

It's Steve Bruce's son. I normally don't make people pay for something they aren't responsible for, but fuck having a Bruce here. Literally just fuck it. No from me without even going into football reasons!
 
Wouldn't completely right him off as shit just yet, how many of us will have had the same idea about Jake Wright this time last year, and if memory serves he'd never played higher than 4th tier before us. With Wilder it's as much having the right attitude and fitting into the team as owt else. He does have experience of promotion out of this division with Hull and of course he was one of the celebrated pork XI who did so well to beat Hartlepool (aet) at Cardiff in 2005.

Difference between Wright and Bruce is that Bruce has played at this level before and been wank.
 
Not keen....but all city fans I know said he did a decent job when he played. Everyone loves a workhorse and a trier.
 
This has the following scenario perfectly set to play out

We offer a half arsed contract and rightly so (no negativity meant) and leave it on table he's close to just accepting it before a team for over my way comes in offering a little bit extra he signs there and no one here cares accept one person not decided who yet,goes mental And blast McCabe for not having ambition to sign Alex Bruce

Who says he's on a 3 year deal. Wilder is in charge of transfers so you're picking fault with him. If he's on a free what have we got to lose. If wilder offers him a deal it won't be vast. If Bruce chooses not to take the offer we've lost nothing.

Got no time for him. He's that kid who was never that good but his Dad was the manager and he always seemed to start in front of someone who was better. Looked at his career and Bent nose Bruce signed him twice, if his Wiki is true (I know) favouritism was one of the reason he's left daddy at Brum.

If we are going to sign an older head they need to be better than Wright and I don't see him being that. Sorry anyway went on a rant. Can see him at Bolton he lives around here and they may have teonsettled CBs but don't see anyone of note pushing those two or covering for that matter

Agree with all that. In Wilder we trust etc but Bruce wouldn't be someone I'd look at. Rather take Wheater from the Trotters.

Not mecessarily advocating him but in the past 11 years he has spent 9 at Championship level and 2 at Premiership level with the exception of 3 games on loan in league one.

In the same period, Blades on the other hand...

Let's not get all snobbish. If he trials well he may fit a role Wilder has in mind. Remember Jake Wright wasn't good enough for Oxford, supposedly.

We are deep into the closed season. I have gone past withdrawal and reserve the right to be as feckin negative and fear the worst as much as my mind will allow. I will speculate, make things up, critisise, lie and slag off anyone until those fat lazy two hats get back in shape, pull a shirt on and start scoring goals. Then and only then will I allow reality and common sense back into my life!
So in answer to your question.... I feckin say so! ;)

Don't rate him at all. Slow, doesn't read the game well and is league one standard regarding his FOOTballing ability. However, if Wilder and Knilly like him then I'll accept I'm wrong.
 
Just to clarify again, Alex Bruce can FUCK OFF back to daddy, whos also a prick!

It does sound like nothing has materialised.

No harm in taking a proper look at him though.

we could really do with some proper pace at centre back - some nippy forwards in the championship - and Bruce wasn't going to provide that.
