Just my own idea, not heard anything from anyone... but Adam Armstrong is back at Newcastle and possibly he could be loaned out again as he is only 19

Not a bad idea, I would presume Coventry are trying to get him back for another season long loan too?

Cant see him getting a sniff even with Newcastle in the Championship, below Mitrovic, Gayle, Perez, Cisse, Gouffran, Riviere ... Christ! Newcastle have a lot of strikers!

Would have thought he'd go out on loan to a championship club after his success in L1, but now Newcastle have been relegated he might be an option.

I think we should worry about the other recruits first though. And if there's any budget left over, make a move.

I would like a pacy option up front. Jordy Hiwula could be a good loan option as could Dominic Samuel, but the one I'd prefer is Jon Obika, who can also play out wide. One year left on his contract so the fee wouldn't be massive. He strikes me as one of those who is likely to make a real name for himself very soon.

He's been threatening to do it for about 6 years, I don't think he ever will. One of those 'nearly' men.
Samuel would be great on a years loan.

Just like Nicky Ajose!

12 goals in 35 games last season, 10 the season before, and last season Ajose was scoring a lot of the goals.

He's 25, is athletic, skillful and knows this league well now. I expect him to have a big season. He'd be a great buy for us for around 300k.

I do expect Nicky Ajose to drift back into obscurity this year hence why I'm not too bothered he went to Charlton to be honest
Would prefer John Akinde after his past 2 seasons for a similar price

I'd like Akinde too but Obika's a better player. There'd be room for both if we could afford it... and maybe we will be able to if we sell Adams. And how much stronger would we be for it if we did use the cash to sign those two...

Meh, I know your views on Adams but he did score the same as Obika last year at the age of 19, I'd rather keep him.
IF we were to cash in I'd like us to sign Akinde and another gem to nurture. Obika if Akinde gets difficult.

I know Adams was similar to Obika goal wise but as an all round player he's not as good, not as skillful, not as technically and positionally adept.

If you look at Akinde and Obika, you'd say both are better strikers than Adams and Obika's a better winger.

If we're to sell him I think these two would represent very intelligent reinvestment - good athletes, good ages, one proven in L1, the other has a good scoring record recently... you'd expect at least one to come good, and between them they probably wouldn't even cost 600k.
Although Jackson Irvine is possibly the one I'd spend any money on first.

They might have a lot of strikers but none of them know we're the back of the net is.
The main reason they got relegated.
They might come good in this division, but a Rep i deal with who's a Geordie fan wants shut of the lot especially Cisse.

I think they will start with Mitrovic and Gayle, obviosuly they just paid big money for him for a champ signing.

Shame with Cisse, had a great first Cisse and scored a worldie V Chelsea!

As good as he is, we don't need 4 players of a similar ilk. We already have Done, Sharp and McNulty in a role like him. He'll probably go to a small Championship club like Burton or the Dingles.

I seem to recall him having an explosive start, but slowly tapering away as the season wore on.

Yup. I had a nice little fifty quid bet that sharp would outscore him (remember sharp, that waste of money?) - so was pleased his arse fell out towards the end of the season

Ajose will be top scorer again this year IMO.

Not seen this guy mentioned, right age, good prospect and might be available from Newcastle within our budget. I’ve got a mate who’s a Newcastle fan and he says they rated him. Also seems to have had a good season on loan.

From an outsiders point of view (ie not on CWs recruitment team) he seems like a good fit with what we'd be looking for.

Been mentioned plenty, but yes, he'd be a very suitable signing for us. I wouldn't want to entertain a loan deal though, I'd only want him permanently. Especially if Gallagher / the other striker is only a loan.

He could be one of at least two attacking players we should invest in to replace Brooks.

Has he ever done owt at Champ level?

Not much. But he did do this. Which delighted me.

You have to be decent to score a goal like that.

He possibly went to the Championship too early but he did well for Blackburn and started scoring consistently in the second half of the season, usually from the left wing.
