Agree. There must be hundreds of Sunday League sides with more points than this, who can also claim to be the "best". In fact, there's a league at our work that plays about four games per week, so even the middle-placed teams in that league will easily have more than 2000 points this century.
Another terrible measure of success is the "most points gained when losing" table that always pops up during games on Sky. We did reasonably well in that metric last year, simply because we were always losing, so had more chances than any other teams to pick up points from that position.

Measuring by pure points tally is a highly redundant metric of success.
As a hypothetical example, you could have a team finish 3rd in the Championship for the last 25 years, missing out on automatic promotion by goal difference only, and then losing in the play offs. An upper play off position tends to require somewhere between 80-90 points each season, so for the sake of argument, I'll assume 85.
85 points for 25 years, works out at 2125 points. Such a team would be in 1st place in that table by more than 300 points, yet would not have won anything in that time.
Fuck me. Someone's been reading The Da Vinci Code.
“If you torture the data long enough, it will confess to anything.”
Perhaps you would like to familiarise yourself with the amongst many, many, many other ideas: p-hacking/data dredging, confirmation bias, cherry-picking, sampling bias, etc etc etc (and just the general Enlightenment idea of coherent, rational thought), and then stand in a corner for a very, very, very long time and think about what you've done.
This is the classic place to start:
This, on the other hand, isn't:
And I'm not usually a grammar Nazi, but while we're at it it's millennium as in mille (thousand) and annus(year).
Though millenium taken to mean a thousand anuses is probably a fairer reflection of the actual content of OP
My horoscope said today would be a test, it really does make you think...
we have made the play offs several times and been promoted 4 timeson average every v 3rd year top 6 places
if you dont think its worth anything ,,,, why do we bother at all
we all play against our peers and we ave collected more points than any other efl club, but as you say if you dont care you dont care
is it just the pies that keep you going
no its a table that hows of 72 EFL clubs over 25 years we have collected the most points
I dont expect Wednesday will have troubled the scorers, as they got over excited getting 53 points last season in the championship ,
again no its shows us as the biggest points collector in the EFL FULL STOP
ITS NOT HAPPENED IN ANY CHAMPIONSHIP TABLE , THIS CENTURY THE OWLS FINISHING ABOVE US SO ITS NO SURPRISE IS IT
So I cant claim it as a new thing from that aspect
which is why owls are not even remotely mentioned in the opening post
