That's an interesting rule. Does the contract offer have to meet any plausibility rule? It strikes me that every club could offer an unwanted player a peppercorn salary just to ensure they retain the right to a fee.
I'm pretty sure the contract offer has to be of equal or greater than the one he was on previously to get a fee for him.

Jack Baldwin does look like the most likely shout given the info, but Peterborough don't sell cheaply so he'd cost a bit, and I can't see us spending decent money on a position that now seems like the 3rd or 4th priority and given that the likes of Morsy and Lavery would also cost us a fair bit.

John Egan at Gillingham maybe?

You only have to pay compo if a player under 24 is offered a contract from his former club but chooses to move to another, such as when we signed McGahey.

If a player is a free agent having already left his former club (which I believe Lavery did in the summer?), then he's fair game. We don't have to pay the oinkers a penny, under 24 or not.

Just spent 10 minutes trying to find a report I read online yesterday from, I think, a paper in Portsmouth. Did I click on the link to this from somewhere in another thread, here ?

The article concerns Portsmouth's interest in signing Lavery, but their reluctance to pursue it because, as they understood the situation, the fee would have to be fixed by an independent tribunal whose ruling would be binding. Portsmouth were saying it was too much of a gamble for them, because the ruling could commit them to anything between X hundred grand and Y hundred grand. Said they weren't prepared to pursue it because they would have no say in the fee, which might turn out to be unaffordable.

It has to be on equivalent or improved terms. If it's lower, they're not entitled to a fee :)

offer 1p less then and make up the rest in play one game bonus or something if its really low.

Wilder's latest interview with Buchan just now doesn't sound promising in terms of sunjihai's reputation. Slowly going down in my estimations as surely these deals would be already wrapped up and announced? Hope I'm wrong but it doesn't sound like an announcement is imminent.

If he is 'signed' as posted by Sunjihi in order for Lee Grant(or any other player) to play tomorrow he has to be signed and registered by 12noon today. Obviously it can be announced later. However if he was 'signed' already there would be no logical reason why he wouldn't have said something more positive in terms of incomings during the interview.

Not sure why you're taking his posts so personally

If he's s free agent, why do we have to pay a fee?

Listen again more carefully (not being rude, I just think you've missed something). Tufty says, and it's almost a throwaway, that he's 'certain' he'll have "bodies" (definitely plural) "in the building" before Saturday.

OK Tufty, we'll leave that one with you. Just don't forget to make one a CB and one a CM!....I think Grant is now a 'given'.

About Lee Grant; If he was signed yesterday why hasn't it been announced?
Because Eddy fucking Grant turned up. I don't blame Sunjihi , it's just crossed wires between the manager, board and scouting system. Oh, and no fucker wanted to dance the miserable twats. Just when we need some electric pace in the side we get electric avenue, what a mess this club is in.

I'd say start a new thread because it's a new rumour, but on second thoughts don't. What utter, utter bullshit this is...

Sheffield United linked with a shock move for Chelsea young star

POSTED BY: ADMIN AUGUST 15, 2016

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford is being linked with a loan move to Sheffield United.

Bamford had a loan spell at Derby County in 2014 when he scored eight goals in 23 games as the Rams reached the Championship play-off final.

The 22-year-old has two years to run on his Chelsea contract but he has yet to make his senior debut for them.

Bamford has also had loan spells at Norwich City, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and MK Dons.

He has shown he can score goals in the Championship having hit 19 in 44 appearances for Middlesbrough in 2014-15 when Boro reached the play-off final.

Unsubstantiated, random bullshit written by someone who has no idea what they're talking about.

Patrick Bamford FFS! The guy who's going to Villa...

Clickbait wankers.
