So if we get promotion then what?
2025/6 season and we get what exactly ? Against far far superior squads to ours. It is a worrying thought.

180 million ish instead of 40 million to build the team and club to be stronger + whatever the owners plans are.

Not worrying whatsoever.
Agreed. Seriously I believe that if we are promoted, the level of investment this time around from our new owners will blow anything we have spent previously completely out of the water. These guys are only in this to invest in a Premier League club & will want to stay there.

More and more of the consortium seems to be coming out of the woodwork, I'm confident that these guys are serious about keeping us as a regular PL team.

Easier said than done, but it'll be very different to last promotion under the Prince.

There’s the small matter of getting promoted first, eight green bottles standing on a wall!

I did a predictor thing earlier. Had Burnley finish on 96, Leeds on about 102. I had us in-between.🎉

Surely this can't be right
Burnley on 96 points? 😂😂😂 They're on 65 points with 13 games to go. That's 31 points from 13 games. That's 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. They're averaging less than 2 points a game. Most teams try to win. They only try to not let goals in.

It would be karma if they lost in the playoffs after shattering the goals against record.

all the points totals look too high tbf.

However, Burnley have 27 from thir last 13 games (7 wins , 6 draws) - their last league defeat was Nov 3rd

On that basis, they need to turn 2 or 3 draws into wins to hit the total I'd put up.

Out last 13 is a different story - 3 defeats, 9 wins, 1 draw = 28 points
L33ds have 31
Sunderland 25

In truth, I'd expect a few stumbles from here on in, with a fw shocks etc and all three teams to post lower totals. Time will tell.

Leeds were still 2nd right up until 19th April when they famously imploded against Wigan.
What a game that was.

I think we'd won an early game and I watched their match at home.Lost to 10 men with Leon Clarke working his arse off up front for Wigan

That's the problem with Burnley. As you say they haven't lost in the last 13 games. You've lost 3. Yet you widened the gap.

I agree this is the time of the season for unexpected results. Every club still has a chance of the playoffs or relegation so will be giving full effort. But once the mid table sides have nothing to play for they can play with freedom against sides having to win. Injuries and tiredness will kick in.

It looks like we should make the playoffs. I wouldn't want Burnley over 2 legs. I'd rather watch paint dry. 2 games of them not wanting to let a goal in and waiting for them to get a single goal. But the playoffs final would be different. And if it ended 0-0 I'd have more confidence than usual. We've got a very good young GK and have just won a penalty shootout for the first time ever 😁

I see Coventry have won a few games and they’re back to impart their wisdom, congratulations on finally managing to overtake Sheffield’s 2nd club. Has Rudoni won the Ballon D’or yet?!

An interesting quirk of that run in was that for the Millwall, Forest, Hull and Ipswich games we ended up playing before Leeds and had the opportunity to put the pressure on.

Clearly we didn`t do that against Millwall - but against Forest and Hull we did - and even if you accept the Wigan game as a quirk from Leeds - i am convinced that us having won at Hull earlier in the day coupled with Leeds implosion against Wigan really affected them in the Brentford game.

And of course after Ipswich we could effectively "forget the maths" anyway

Can you imagine Wilder with a couple of hundred million burning a hole in his back pocket?

Let's have a look at the players he's signed for more decent money. Callum Robinson, Mousett, Berge, Brewster, McBurnie, Luke Freeman, Bogle, Lowe, Burke,

Then add more than decent wages to loan signings and freebies, Besic, Ampadu, Jagielka, Morrison, Rodwell,

And Tommy Cannon looking like he's about to keep up Wilder's 0% success rate with money track record at the moment.

Very harsh on Mousset, McBurnie and Berge.

They were all a success for me.

I hate to shatter your negative vibes, but you've named a lot of good footballers in your lists. And Oli Burke admittedly.

Morrison and Rodwell would have been on low wages. Baffled by anyone thinking we'd have been paying their peakest of peak salaries.

Saying Berge was a failure is an absolute joke, as is mentioning Cannon already. Mousset, Bogle and Mcburnie weren’t failures either.

Yeah we are gonna do it easily
This is dem Blades !
We do nothing the easy way.
Points deduction.
Total rebuild last summer.
Way inferior goal difference to rivals.
Losing Blaster & Souttar.
Can't find an equivalent replacement.
Hamer bookings.
And on and on.

We might do it , but it will be against some of the biggest challenges a Blades promotion campaign has ever overcome.

For all my bickering with CW's selection & shape decisions , if we get an auto spot , it will be his biggest achievement with us.

Better than 2019 promotion & finishing 10th in PL coz of the adversity faced.

The only ones we paid good money for were Mcburnie, Ramsdale, Berge and Brewster.
We doubled our money on Lowe/Bogle and made a substantial profit on Ramsdale.

Mcburnie was top scorer in a 9th placed PL campaign and in an automatic promotion campaign. Berge was a good player for us, playing his part in an automatic campaign, with most disappointed when he left. The other has been a flop.

Going up via the playoffs would be my dream - experiencing a win at Wembley , lifting a trophy and getting promoted all on the same day / wow - and even better if it’s SW we beat 👍. Will probably never happen again in my lifetime - so , seeing as we’re nailed on to qualify for playoffs already I’m pretty much cool and relaxed about the run in .
Hey Bell , you must have an IRON constitution 🙄

I hope you haven't dropped a CLANGER with this type of dream 😅

But it is an AP ... PEALING thought.

Which CHIMES with my idea of a

good DING-DONG 🤣

I'll get me coat ...

8 wins will do it. Burnley draw too many and not conceding a goal won't last much longer, Just don't see Sunderland finishing above us. If we beat Leeds next Monday we will win it.
There is something repulsively successful about Burnley and their smarmy twat manager.
4-0 is further from a draw than we've ever managed and they don't look like conceding another goal this season

They looked like conceding a few in the first half last night.
