Birmingham won 21 of 29 which is 72% win rate

Winning 10 of remaining 17 needs only 58% win rate

They're definitely the team most likely then.

Can't see anybody doing it in League Two, it's too competitive.

If us or Leeds were to do it in the Championship then we're looking at somebody surpassing the 106 point Reading team from 2005-06.

Not gonna happen.

Just had a look at the fixtures and 10 isn’t that implausible.

Looking at the fixtures it should be nearly certain. Then you see Leeds/Burnley in the mix and recall Portsmouth/Luton performances and feel the urge to see a sphincter specialist. Whole season pivots on 2 games, lose any of the others and we only have ourselves to blame.

Going up via the playoffs would be my dream - experiencing a win at Wembley , lifting a trophy and getting promoted all on the same day / wow - and even better if it’s SW we beat 👍. Will probably never happen again in my lifetime - so , seeing as we’re nailed on to qualify for playoffs already I’m pretty much cool and relaxed about the run in .

You'd really want to put yourself through all that stress??

Sure ✔️

Only live once (perhaps?) . I doubt I will ever see a winning Wembley performance in my lifetime , so bring it on

Leeds have 3 tough matches coming up, Sunlun tonight, us next Monday then West Brom. They then go down to a resurgent Pompey before Millwall go to Elland Road, then it's away at QPR.. They shouldn't be too cocky just yet, but win 4 of those 6, (including beating us) and they will be in the driving seat.

our next 6, on paper anyway, are not quite as tough with 4 at home and only 2 away;

Leeds H
QPR A
Preston H
Bristol City H
Pigs A
Cov H

If we beat Leeds and then pick up 3 wins and a couple of draws from the others that's us up to 84 points...

You Sir, are mad!! 🤣

8 wins will do it. Burnley draw too many and not conceding a goal won't last much longer, Just don't see Sunderland finishing above us. If we beat Leeds next Monday we will win it.

By my maths we are projected to finish on 97, so 10 wins should be very doable.

No doubt some will say that we haven't been the same since Soutar go injured, but interestingly out points tally has increased since the big man left us.

Up to and including the Burnley loss we were on 2.08 points per game. Since then we have been on 2.2 points per game albeit over a shorter time period.

This is from a (usually) decent site for actual stats etc but this part is the only bit they do that isn't ....... "predicted final table".
It's all vey well but with 13 matches to go I'm not sure even the Burnley fans would have them not conceding another goal.

That would be 35 points from a possible 39 or W11 D2 L0.

If Burnley manage to do that then fair play to them, they deserve to go up.

Just think how useful/important those two deducted points would be right now

Just how important those deducted two points would be right now?

Almost anything that gives us an edge over other teams, so I hope we don't come to regret Abdullah's
contribution to this season.

Well according to that we arent winning away from home again all season.

I'm a bit mystified as to why Burnley are suddenly going to go from under 2 points per game to getting on for 2.5 points per game.

Or that the reason it happened was because he kept players "too long" to get us promotion....

9 wins - 2 losses - 2 draw.....and I hope it's enough

Can't be right that, the Massive are not in the top 8....

By my reckoning it will be us and leeds top 2, Which order i cant call but will just be a point in it, Burnley will drop some surprise draws, whilst they dont conceded they dont score many either

I reckon 95pts maximum will be enough for us. So we need 25 pts from somewhere. Burnley would have to win 10 out of 13 to match that - won’t happen.
We need 105 points, there is nothing less that will do, that is assuming Burnley get maximum of 13 more wins including against us. Whilst ever that is the figure that is what we need.
We can achieve 109 points so we can only afford to lose to Burnley and draw one other, possibly against Leeds, we must win 11 more matches.

Rubbish. No way on earth 1st and 2nd need over 100 points.

Not again....

Where would we be without the two point deduction? My bet is bottom end Championship or League 1.

If the Prince had chosen to sell Ndaiye and/ or Berge at Christmas, in order to make the repayments on time and so avoid the two point deduction, we would almost certainly have missed out on promotion to the Premier League. We would then have been in a horrendous financial situation, resulting in a firesale of marketable assets, followed by squad rebuilding on an absolute shoestring, and over- reliance on youth.

Thanks to the judgement shown by the Prince, we got promoted, came back down with parachute payments, got two points deducted, and can now afford the squad that is currently sitting top of the Championship.

If we do miss out on promotion by two or less points, then I will regret the deduction less than the two points we threw away against QPR, the pathetic show against Hull, etc, etc. Without the actions resulting in that deduction, we wouldn’t even be in a place to compete.

Ifs and ands.....two additional points would be season changing
