Here's your match thread for the upcoming game with Reading and the place for:
  • Predictions
  • Line-ups
  • In-match chatter
  • Post-match reaction and reports

Will the game go ahead?!

The team picks itself:-

Simonsen
Calve, Bartley, Nosworthy, Taylor
Lowton, Britton, Montgomery, Yeates
Reid
Evans

Subs: Wright, Kozluk, Batth, Parrino, Ertl, Quinn, Slew

I have of course assumed the best case scenario that Yeates will be fit enough to play!

I think the game will go ahead. The weather is expected to improve slightly towards the end of the week and with undersoil heating we should just about do it. Perhaps with our injuries we should hope it is postponed!

My prediction: Blades to come out fighting and win 1-0.

They now say the match is in serious doubt: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2235302,00.html

Sheffield United say that Saturday's game at Bramall Lane 'is in serious doubt.'

The Royals are due to play United at 3pm this Saturday, but snowfall in Yorkshire means the Blades have opened discussions about the game with the Football League, and a decision whether the game will go ahead will be announced after those consultations.

Steve Hicks, United's safety officer said, "With the continuing lack of improvement in the weather and less than favourable forecast, serious doubts are emerging about whether the fixture will go ahead, owing to the build-up of snow on the terraces and surrounding areas."
