And why it took Clough a full season to understand what is required I'll never know. He should have seen this from last season, we played enough pie munching teams last season under his stewardship.

Agree with everything said here. Next season will be a waste of time unless we fetch a manager who is capable of achieving promotion out of this division. If Clough gets us promoted next season (very much doubt it), I will eat my words and write a letter of apology to every pro-Clough supporter on the forum.

remembering 4 struggling season in the top and one additional failure and having an inflated view of our stature is forced to lead to disappointment
we like many before us are rebuilding , I have no doubt we will return to the championship soon , frustrating as it is

Same here Wiz . But could we have coped , if we were let down . I just couldnt cope with we finished 7th last season , and reached the play off final , its progress senorio. It may have hiiden or highlighted too many more issues .

Walked back to the car like us all from trips to Wembley and Cardiff , to be glad this time we failed in the semis.

The play off final and our short falls are both relative . One goes with the other , unfortunately.

I don't think anyone is writing us off for next season , but we all become realists from what our performances dished up this season.

As you say , lets see what happens preseason , which will set the benchmark and mood for hopefully a successful season .
