I wasn’t claiming he’s a nice person. But he does seem to be pretty good at coaching a winning side.

I didn't put much work into it at all. I spend a fair bit of time on the Middlesbrough board for various reasons, and they have a bit of a Tonda Eckert obsession since the spygate business, understandably enough, so the spygate badge and other stuff about Southampton's points deduction and the FA's case against Eckert are on threads on their board that get regularly bumped.

My point wasn't about whether or not Eckert is a nice person, it was that it's no good having a coach who's good at coaching a winning side, if his lack of professionalism or, to put it bluntly - cheating - is going to result in being kicked out of the play-offs, a points deduction, and then the uncertainty of going into a season not knowing whether you'll lose and have to replace your head coach because he has 3 charges of breaching FA regulations hanging over his head.

That's why I took issue with your statement that he'd "done alright", because it's pointless having a coach who can do his job well enough to get you into the play-offs, if he's going to suffer such a serious error of judgement (and that's being generous to him), that you then get kicked out of said play-offs, undoing an entire season of good work, and then have to start the next season with a points deduction, to boot.

He has previously been an assistant coach of HJK Helsinki and took over as interim manager beating his current side to win the Finnish Cup (Finland's version of the FA Cup). A set-up of Rösler with an understudy of Nuutinen could be an interesting one. Although we joke about the "Brexit blades", it definitely does hinder our progress, the criteria to meet to be successful for a visa isn't that high providing they have had some form of international experience. When you look at a lot of the players in 2 Bundesliga or other 2nd tiers in Europe they still have players that have played for their countries U20s or similar.
