Put this to bed.

I think he has run his race with Sheffield United. He has saved us many of a time, but football has moved on! Different tactics being used.

He has been a great servant for the club, but we need to move on from him now. I have a feeling that why Phil Jones has come into the coaching staff to naturally take over at the end of the season, but these first 2 games have been a disaster
It may be that the club needs to totally reorganise including new management and coaching, but now is not the time to be doing that.
Any substantial changes need to be done against a stable ownership situation and with substantial funds. I don’t see that happening in the next 18 months at least.
In the meantime we need to make the best of what we have to ensure that future changes arise from a club in the Championship. In my opinion CW is the best option as manager for this season and next, not least because sacking him would be costly and replacement may be hard to come by with all that is happening in the background.

No goals. If we can't score, then how are we going to win games? We can't ever create anything right now?
It is possible that we may score in every game this season from now on. You cannot sensibly judge our ability to to score based on two games and with 10 days to go in the window.

Until somebody else gets set of keys for Shirecliffe, knows the WiFi password and the club hires few folks who know what they are doing, it has to be Wilder because he has the institutional knowledge to keep things sane.

Not a ringing endorsement, more horses for courses

Plenty! We should have beaten both those teams. Swansea had last season's top scorer on the bench! He didn't come on till the hour mark!
So last seasons top scorer didn't score against us for 30 minutes away from home. We are 2 games in, I would have said no to Wilder after he left us in the March of the Premier League season and not had MK 2 & 3 but getting rid now is pointless, I said on a different post, if we can't do it up top we need to be solid at the back, we will get a win every now and then from a corner or some good play when things click. But "Parker Ball" under Burnley was dull as dishwater but they didn't concede many in the Championship and got promotion from being strong defensively we haven't conceded in 3 competitive fixtures.

With the turmoil of upstairs going on last thing we need is a manager change a few games in.

We need some stability somewhere. Wilder seems to be determined to prove people who are doubting us too and is having to deal with pressures out of his control.

Of course no manager is immune if results aren't coming. But as it stands now I cannot comprehend how someone would think now is the time to change.

Keep, but only because an extension was agreed over summer for no reason.

we have to keep wilder as hes the best man for the job with the present circumstances however i dont totally disagree with the o.p. i very much doubt were going anywhere under wilder and it pains me to say that i was a massive wilder fan first time round but the football his team are playing now are slow boring and dull we never put early crosses in just piss about going backwards in triangles allowing the opposition to get set and all these tactics have to come from the manager its all a bit depressing at the lane just now

I've no idea how many Blades fans are alive and looking out for our results every week.
Pretty sure it's in the 100s of thousands.
I find it quite heartening there are only a few dozen who want the manager gone.
Don't get me wrong,if we could get a Prime time Mourinho,Klopp or Pep with billions of money for players I'd want him gone as well.
A few dozen in your dreams.

To be honest mate , and im trying to be kind here.
You make yourself look like a bit of a doughnut coming out with statements like that about the 1st 2 games
Was it exhilarating? No
Did we win ? No
Did we lose? No
Was it a disaster? Was it fuck
Dean/fjortoft 97
Don givens
Simonsen
Chelsea 94
Wade elliot ...
David Hopkin etc etc list is endless
They were disasters ....
Chin up hallam boy , he's here till he walks
And in our current situation...its probably for the best 👌
Can't understand why you can't see that tbh
And I didn't want him back mk 2 or mk 3 .

I think you're onto something with Jones. But he will be snapped up by a Prem club once they see how well he can turn a once calender defence into a ducks arse defence. He's not going to be our manager. That would show ambition!! Our owners don't have any, just a company that hope to turn a profit on one day.

Says on wiki
Givens stepped up when no other Sheffield United player wanted to take the penalty.
Fair fucks to him ......
Just before my time but interesting none the less
that was exactly what happened but it was a sliding doors type of moment who knows which direction the club would have gone if mathews had stepped up and thumped the penalty away we certainly wouldnt have had the totally stupid bonkers day at feethams or the drunken pub crawls of all pub crawls in darlington town centre 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

At the time Don Givens was the leading international goalscorer for Northern Ireland. It was a reasonable expectation given his experience and willingness to take the kick, that he'd slot it home. Alas not to be as he weakly passed the ball to the Walsall keeper. Cue rage and pandemonium.

Unbeaten. Possibly struggling financially. Who do you think we should get in as manager? To spend nothing, recruit nobody and work with what we have.

Fucking clueless mate. See the vote

I've long held this nagging feeling that we're going to get one more promotion out of Wilder. And we should have had it in 2025.

It just might be from League One again, that's all.

Love him or loath him ....
Surely everyone can see at this moment in time that CW is the go to man. It's so obvious. To change could spell disaster.
