With no Hamer, probably, this game will, hopefully, show the lads have moved on and ready to get the season started with a great performance. However, in reality, I feel Wilder will play conservatively at best, have the usual excuses in front of the media and well be out of the tin pot cup with a whimper. God, I hope we show some passion and the lads gel rather than the first time we've played together cup efforts of the past.
Hope 4-1 win
Expect 0-0, 3-4 loss on penalties
4-0 loss with two more outside the box worldies from little Louis Reed and a couple of sublime efforts from Didzy.

These games are a pain in the rear. If you lose, especially to lower division opposition, then it kills your momentum going into the new season. If you win, then you've got more of the damned things to play.

As if the season isn't long and gruelling enough without playing in a competition which only half-a-dozen clubs have any realistic chance of winning. Ye Gods, it was an upset when a club like Newcastle won a cup the other season. That's the stage we've reached.

Will watch it on tv, but I don't have much interest in it tbh, we don't seem to take the league cup seriously in the last few years,so seems like another friendly

Going to be interesting how he sets up.

Hopefully its used as a pre-season game and goes strong and not the usual cup set up and play the squad players.

I’m hoping that this game exposes weaknesses that means either some sort of ownership interest in signing players or wilder suddenly realises that overlapping CBs (other direct tactics) actually works at the level we are playing rather that pretending he’s the Yorkshire Mourinho.

Sod all this 4231 use a system for the players we have. 442, give cannon what he needs, o hare on the left for now. A front 2 also gives one more opportunity

Im just saying that loads of people complain that premier teams dont take it seriously, most prem teams dont need to and play the kids and still win it

Nevermind Premier League teams, we never take it seriously.

Wilder will be hoping to dump us out again today or in the next round.

I would because I value my team more than an ex player.

This baffles me. it was the same when Louis Reed scored twice in the same game against us having never scored for us. Why are we happy for ex players doing us over?
Because it gives the usual suspects the opportunity to bump an ancient thread with GERRIMBACK

If Chongy scores... I'll just sit there doing nowt because it's a round one League Cup game, not a fucking title decider.
