“Not the most glamorous of positions”.
What an insult to the fantastic right-backs we have had down the years.
Len Badger and Vas Borbokis, for example, two of the most exciting players in any position to have worn the red and white stripes.

We really dont. People just choose to remember the moments when it doesn't suit us as fans.

We could do this novel thing all the other clubs manage to do and offer players (especially ones come through from the U21s) an improved contract as a reward for breaking into the first team.

I don’t know why everything has to be left until the last 12 months. We should be tying down our key assets and building the team around them.

I forgot to mention Cec Coldwell, my uncle’s best mate Fred Furniss, and the legendary Bill Cook - the only man to win 2 FA Cups, 10 years apart, with our great club.

Thing is. Unfortunately attacking players tend to demand a higher fee than a right back. Hence the nod to not a glamorous position.

Very true.

I'm not sure there are too many kids who grow up genuinely wanting to play as a full back.
 
I've been pretty consistent in my praise for Seriki, I think he has a very high ceiling and I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest from the PL after some of his performances.
The offer from Sassuolo is ridiculous.

The one thing I was really looking forward to this season was watching him and Brooks develop down our right.
I'll be hugely disappointed if he does go, but also not surprised as I don't think he fits into Wilder's "culture," and is another one Wilder was reluctant to offer too much credit to last season.

Anyway, fingers crossed. If he's still on junior wages we should sort that out. We don't have much of an attacking threat and he at least offers something.

Wilder offered him nothing but praise. He is our messiah, and treats all the players fantastically with his tactical genius
