So they were unwilling to make a deal? At least on the terms we were willing to offer? Not true.
They wanted more than we were offering.

Ergo they were “unwilling to release / sell Kenny in January” .Not true.

His subsequent ‘walking’ is irrelevant to the point you made - tenuously linking our ‘failure’ to sign Kenny (& indeed Dunne) with the signing of (& expenditure on) Cannon.
According to all reports we made significant bids for both players in January, both of whom were reportedly keen to sign (including Kenny allegedly considering ‘withdrawing his labour’).
We have subsequently had a change of manager with absolutely no indication that new regime was interested in either Kenny or Dunne even when they were ‘available’ on a free.
Seriki for me.Choudhury was our best RB last season, and Leicester must still need to get rid of their big earners..
AyeNo, not "ergo they were unwilling to release Kenny.".
They were willing, under the right circumstances - particularly as the player had publicly said he wanted the move and they risked losing him on a free this Summer (which they subsequently did).
According to this report, Hertha advised that our offer was 250k up front and 250k if promoted. I wouldn't call that particularly "significant" and well short of their asking price.
As for Jimmy Dunne - on a free transfer that felt a real no brainer regardless of regime, but hopefully we have even better lined up and more resources to allocate to that position than I expect.

He would wan't a three or four year contract on top championship wages, a hefty signing on fee and he's 28 in October. If we were promoted would he be good enough for PL, if we don't get promoted could we afford his wages without parachute payments?Jimmy Dunne would have been a cracking signing for not a lot of wonga
