It's always been a big topic of debate. So what's your ideal Blades home kit?

I've allowed 3 choices, please choose:

• 1 shirt
• 1 shorts

Pinstripes just make it different enough to stand out from the other R/W teams, also liked the kit (last year i think) with the black pinstripe down the middle of the white stripe.

Southampton and Lincoln often have black pinstripes. Even Stoke had them in the 90s. I don't think Sunderland have ever had them though

Black shorts/socks is our traditional attire and I feel like our best kits have them, especially in the Adidas era. Pinstripes-wise, I don't mind either way.

Stripe Width is an evolving process and I think the modern, thicker stripes are an improvement, but in terms of pure 'what United look like', in my minds eye, it's this:

We're highly unlikely to get striped backs these days. Amazed they got away with it for 24 25 because it made reading numbers tricky

Almost completely agree but I prefer pinstripes, too Stoke-y otherwise!

Nothing good ever came of SUFC wearing White shorts - we always seem to get relegated in them. Or lose in the playoffs.

Although losing in the playoffs is absolutely not limited to White Shorts...

Probably depends the era you started going but black shorts and socks feel like us. The white shorts and socks from 92-94 and 2002-2004 Desun kits worked quite well. The red shorts and socks the year after were truly terrible.

For me we should always have Black shorts and WHITE socks. The reason for this is it’s gives us an identity, instantly recognisable.

For example we are part of what could be called the big five of red and white striped teams.

Southampton, rarely have the traditional red and white stripes these days, shirts could be anything and when it’s stripes you just know it’s them from the style. Their socks could be anything, red, black, white, hooped. Their kit could be anything from one season to the next. For me they are instantly recognisable.

Stoke, you see a game on tv without knowing the teams you still know it’s Stoke with their white shorts and socks which they have wore for the majority of their history. Instantly recognisable.

Sunderland, always red or black socks, only wore white socks once.

Brentford, again always red or black socks and only wore white once.

So we could be mistaken for Brentford or Sunderland at a glance on tv. But if we stuck to the white socks with our kit I think we would stand out and everyone would know it’s Sheffield United the moment they see the stripes, black shorts and WHITE Socks.

Not ordinarily a fan of the WSC/Full Monty shirt but the pinstripes improve it IMO.

Always wondered why players dont wear more skin tight lycra shirts as the rugby players now do. Might solve all the shirt pulling .., obviously a more generous fit for replicas .

At first sight that WSC/Full Monty shirt - the red stripes are too wide compared to the actual shirt - they were thinner - more like the stripes on the bottom of the shorts

I don`t mind a solid colour on the arms (I do prefer stripes) but if you are going to have a solid colour then it needs to be red - or black at a stretch, and not white.

We play in Red and White Stripes, not White and Red stripes

Every kit should be a variation of this, even down to the black collar and cuffs.

I was one of them and I only voted for it cause I like the retro look of a solid square on the back for the number but there was no option for that!
