And that 15 minutes left you 'unsatisfied' did it? You precious little thing. Derby games are often a bit of a lottery where form goes out the window. Grow a pair.
Haha

No, scraping a time wasting 2-1 after being 2-0 up in 19 minutes when it was our best ever opportunity to batter them is the unsatisfying part

There was no 'lottery' about it. They are garbage, we are much better, and the scoreline should and would have reflected that

There's some right fannies in our fan(ny) base. Think back to last May. The play-off final almost put me off Sheffield United and football for good, and yes, I'll say it, it affected my mental health badly. There have been other things that have contributed to the mental health thing, including physical health, and today's match is still only the third I've attended all season, but several corners have been turned in the last couple of months on all fronts.

Being told I can't enjoy beating t'pigs AND SENDING THEM DOWN by Wednesday fans is bad enough, but when my fellow-Blades are queueing up to stick the boot in as well, they i) need to think back to that play-off final, ii) think back to that woeful start to the season, and iii) fuck off in general.

How was the attendance only 30,457? It was over 31k last season, so what was the extra segregation and why?

We seem to get 500 or so shaved off every derby game, despite there being no incidents.

The front few rows of BLUT were empty - but honestly can’t remember whether that was exactly the same for the derby last year or not.

Pretty sure they always block off the first few rows of BLUT? But don't remember there being such a huge chunk of the away end blocked off on the John Street side.

if it had been 11 v 11 we would have won 4/5 nil they only got back in the game because of phillips stupidity and when it went 10 v 10 we missed 2 sitters to make it 4 - 1 which would have been more a reflection on the game

It was the same at Hillsborough. By the end United were just walking through the Wednesday defence at will. They must be very unfit players.

If Phillips had not been sent off, we would have won by 4-0 at least.
The attendance must have been the lowest Derby attendance at Bramall Lane since the Second World War.
must have been three rows of empty seats in Bramall Lane upper. I can understand the away end of Bramall Lane Lower towards John Street being empty.
Must have cost the club a couple of hundred quid.

yeah campbell and peck should have buried those 2 chances late on and 4 - 1 would have been a much fairer reflection on the game phillips was rash with that tackle but ingelson was a nasty twat all afternoon and could easily have got sent off

Just ignore them it's just big man syndrome

Think the 3 or 4 rows at the front on the BLUT is it appears that the netting has been removed chum.

The netting from the Bramall upper was removed last season. I sat in row B last season against wendy.
That game had just over 31.500.in attendance.

Is anyone else having problems with SUTV ? It is giving me no options for either radio commentary or live stream.
It got stuck at the start and would move with the play. I gave up with it and found another stream. It seems that they don't check to see if it works properly before the game.Very frustrating!

Think we know what’s gonna happen… pathetic and disgusting from Phillips.

What 'was' going to happen?

Chris Wilder was once again unbeaten in a Sheffield derby.

Should Wilder train the team to not press/attack and wait until the opposition gift us the ball back.

Maybe we should have kept Selles and had - no red cards, alongside - no points, but with beautiful 'vertical' football.

I'm not condoning Phillips red card, there have been too many of late.

However Phillips was always first to the ball, and won it. You see a player charging down on you, your first reaction is fear for yourself.

Expecting Phillips to somehow reverse his foot and leg to prevent injury to the onrushing Inglesson is somehow disingenuous in my opinion.

Though with camera slow motion you can make a case for some deliberate attempt to cause harm.

Maybe Phillips should just have left the ball because he saw Inglesson charging down.
Here you go old chap, you look like you want it more than me.

Players don't have the slow motion 'time to asess the situation' that Sky Sport have.
Look at it from the other side of the coin, why is Inglesson rushing in to attempt to gain possesion when Phillips has already won the ball and his foot is up.

Why did he not stop?

Sky Sport are always looking for 'headlines' and called out the 'outrage' in real time, whilst awaiting a break for some adverts, it's their job to highlight drama, justified or otherwise.
Squealing for headline attention like our grubby neighbours.

Even Carlton Palmer said he thought a red was harsh, but he wasn't on the commentary team. According to FH tonight.

To be fair the game should ban heading the ball as there is evidence that it could provide harm. Players should also not be allowed to raise their feet above the ground as this could also 'provide harm'.

Maybe running could also be banned as two players running towards each other could cause a 'harmful collision'.

Then we can have the beautiful game that is walking football.

Though without the drama created by the above, few would be interested in attending with no drama.

Still there is always the drama of the matchday thread on S24SU where the non attending cognesenti can air their outrage at the club/management and players, trying to esatablish a scapegoat for the game or parts thereof.

The poster who claimed that another red card was FURTHER ammunition for ousting Chris Wilder was as deluded as venturing over to Porktalk.

Matchday thread - I'm out.
