Yesterday sort of reminded me of this:
Yes we have had a miserable season, and if its good for morale then I'm all for it, but if we put in a dire performance against Portsmouth we will all feel a bit silly.
Delighted with the win, but with how weak they were, we should expect to win 'as standard'. They are a league one club, we are not (yet). Waddle, as much as we don't like him, was right- they had a threadbare squad. We should aspire to be more than simply being better than them.
Appreciate this will probably be very unpopular and I'm in a minority I know but it did seem a bit tinpot taking team photos (even if we did it last year) and took a tiny bit of the shine away.
We (players and management) should have just walked around applauding the fans as usual and make then head down the tunnel and focus on preparing for Portsmouth.
