That side was pathetic as was the Martin Peters shambles. So you would consider this lot worse than a side that conceded 4 at home to Shrewsbury and 3 at home to Bury?,
No. They are worse because they SHOULD be better given their supposed standards and incentives.
This is not a difficult concept.

That made me think what our biggest drop in league positions in consecutive seasons was, as that gives some measure of underperforming expectations. Theres been 7 seasons where we've dropped 12 or more places. With all respect, it is a difficult concept. You’re positioning the case as though there can be two measurable values:
1. Expected achievement.
2. Actual achievement.
…with ‘worst’ being the team with the greatest negative magnitude of difference between the two.
The second measure can easily be measured by league position. Presumably the first has to measured by subjective opinion? Or were you thinking of an objective measure like a previous league position? Maybe the end of the previous season? If so, your measure would need to be adjusted based on the transfers in and out, available budget and other constrictions. How would you quantify those?
Out of interest, would your definition of ‘best’ be the reverse of this? That would probably make Bob Booker our best ever player.
Interestingly, post relegation we've never finished below halfway the following season. That made me think what our biggest drop in league positions in consecutive seasons was, as that gives some measure of underperforming expectations. Theres been 7 seasons where we've dropped 12 or more places.
