Give Chris a call

I’ll admit I didn’t want Chris to go. I’ll admit I’d have him back. I realise it’s probably not going to happen.

But the clique on here that seem to take a pride in disassociating from him. Can you tell me just one thing that Selles has done so far that gives you even a glimmer of hope?

So far I see…

No pattern
No progressive press
Players disinterested
Players out of position (Cannon WTF)
Lack of fight
Tactically we look a mess

I’m sort of thinking with Chris he had targets in his mind and the team at this stage would have been a whole lot tighter?

Whatever you say these changes so far couldn’t really have been worse we are literally rock bottom below Wednesday it’s mind blowing.
It's not an either/or with these two managers.
It seems like an either or between Chris Wilder and every manager we get in, until the end of time with some people.

tufty wont come back no way they shit on him he was 15 mins from winning and they do this to him he will only come back to the lane has a blades fan its there loss he knew how to united fans win games hes a kop god i miss hes better than selles

He’s never coming back and I never want him back either. Selles clearly isn’t working though so we’re gonna have to make a change sooner rather than later.

I presume it’s going to be a busy week next week on transfers? Do they back him though?

Not at all. In this scenario though where we are looking precarious for relegation yes the default is for the bloke that just got 92 who knows the club inside out. Who knows 75% of players.

When he saves us, then yes plan for future properly.

The short term plan from the owners has been hopeless. They haven’t even put an infrastructure to get players in properly. Not sacking Wilder would have bought them time to cover all bases.

Not sure if I’m a “moron” under your definition as I’m club first. Problem is the best manager I can think of to sort this wreck and get us back on track is Wilder. I’ll just assume I’m a moron I your world - probably safest.
The ONLY person in the whole of world football is Chris Wilder? Bloody hell

I'm not hanging myself out there and I'm not pretending I know what's happening or what will happen.

Just that I'm willing to believe what I was told about one of the owners making contact to acknowledge a regrettable decision was made.

Helmy then? He holds the cards by all accounts.

Are there any reasons to feel optimistic off the pitch, are we close on anything?

We fell into a barrel of tits and came out sucking our thumb then?
We shouldn’t have sacked him to replace him with Selles, however, if we’d got the replacement right then it could have been the making of the club moving forward.

My comment was based on not going back for a 3rd stint with Wilder though, I don’t think that’s right for us or him

We deserve to be an average nothing club with such a complacent stupid fanbase. Wilder for a third time, jesus fucking christ. Selles has only had 4 games ! I agree it’s not been good so far but it’s way too early to be calling for change.

I can’t believe how many morons support this club. So many people are wilder first and the club second. Embarrassing.
It’s not embarrassing to be calling for change, Selles is clearly out of his depth.

We do have more options than giving Wilder a call though and should explore all of them.

The issue that is being correctly pointed out is that if we put someone like Cooper or Dyche in charge we may as well have just kept Wilder. They might be slightly better in the PL than him but apart from a week where the squad threw last season away they looked like they wanted to play for Wilder. They don’t look like they have an idea what Selles wants and/or don’t want to play for him.

Cooper wouldn't come. Neither would Dyche. Even if they did we wouldn't meet their wage demands. These are the only two names that I've heard mentioned, but I don't see them as realistic.

If Leeds sack Farke I'd see him as an option, but again wages will be an issue. We've given Selles a three year contract so getting rid of him won't be cheap. We're probably still paying Wilder too.

Actually if it comes down to money Wilder will probably be among the cheapest options. Not that COH will want him back.
Ffs ! Hes not coming back!

Funny how none of the wilderites are mentioned we lost 9 players and more or less the spine of the team, plus the players have defo spat dummy out
I think that most of the fans have mentioned that we have lost players, some yet to be replaced, some who don't really want replacing (BBD, Clarke, etc). If the players have spat the dummy out then why, is more the question? (not a "wilderite" or whatever you call it either BTW).

It's not unknown. Martin Allen had three stints at Barnet. Steve Coppell returned to Palace for a third stint. Redknapp at Pompey (although one was as caretaker). And of course Fergie Jr at Posh.

The years Wilder has been in charge of United bar only the ridiculous COVID season(s) were the best this club has seen for a generation.
Managers capable of succeeding with a low budget club like ours are few and far between.
I my thick end of 60 years watching I can name just 4 out of all our managers across that time. Harris, Warnock, Bassett Wilder.
It'll be a long wait till we find the next one.
Thank you to all those who hounded Wilder out after the club's best ever points haul in the second tier.
You know who you are. It's time to stop writing the stupid justification posts. You got it so wrong. We'll likely be many years getting a manager to make us competitive again.
No need to thank me.

Unless you are Clinton Baptist you have no idea how long it will take to find a successful manager.

With wilder you get passion, pride, grit, identity, unity on the pitch. Let's not forget what the Blades are all about and get above our station. The problem is that these new owners don't seem to understand the club or the heritage and what it took to get this club who were skint only a few seasons ago up to 92 points. Wilder did this. Swallow pride, get him back if he will come or go for Dyche.
What are the Blades all about ?

92 points equalled failure.

By the way you missed badge slapping off.
