i just wonder if ruben is thinking of going with 3 at the back just to shore things up it would then allow seriki and burrows to get further up the pitch both are better wingbacks than full backs in a back 4
I'm not sure he'll think that way but I agree we seem to have the players currently arguably more suited to that.

He's only 20 years old for god's sake!!!. He is no where near as good as Anel when he joined us. Some people are expecting a hell of a lot from this guy in expecting him to immediately beef up our defence. Looking at our first 3 games...... this squad is in urgent need of experienced Championship players asap.

Depends who he plans to use in the three. If its Robbo in the centre and RND on the left, assuming we kick off towards the kop I might swap stands at half time. I want to be as far away as possible from that car crash unfolding in front of my eyes.

well might not be saturday but im thinking bindon mee and robinson in the 3 robbo is just about good enough for that set up but a liability in a back 4

He might be a worse player, but it wouldn't take much for him to be a better defender.

We have an experienced championship player at CB as club captain and he’s garbage. Maybe Championship experience is overrated

Yeah, the contrary to how Brighton and a few others are working. If the board or the technical team have a clear and outlined a long-term recruitment policy - both when it comes to players and managers, these type of crazy signings can be avoided to a bigger extent. To me it seems we have been a bit clueless for a very long time and basically just brought in players without a proper plan for them. I wouldn't be surprised it's agent driven as well - as opposed to actually mapping out players (near or far, young or experienced etc) that would fit with the club's strategy.

If there is a idea and consensus on how we should work to achieve results over time, we wouldn't have to start from scratch every time we sign a new manager who want's to get the players he need for his particular formation or way of playing. If there would be a solid long term plan the next manager would be hired on the basis of that. There will always be some differences but for the long term development of the club and the result, it's key to work within a strategy and changes of staff and players would be a lot more seamless than going from extremes... It takes time to implement these things but once we an idea that we firmly believe in we need to stick to it rather than taking decisions on the basis of short term results.
Problem is we do not have a visible club strategy including recruitment and communication. Many well run clubs throughout Europe have strategies that maintain and support the direction the club wants to go in. This inevitably includes a Director of Football/Sporting Director to predominantly oversee the recruitment and playing side right through from academy to first team. We all know that the turn over of managers/coaches is high but clubs with a well thought out, implemented strategy are able to change manager/coach and and keep the "ship" sailing in the right direction.

One example, albeit at a much higher level than us, is Bayern Munich - last 7 seasons 5 different coaches - 6 Bundesliga titles and 1 Champions League win. Despite Vincent Kompany overseeing Burnley's relegation he slotted into the Bayern strategy and hey presto another Bundesliga title. They have a world class club strategy including an experienced Board member with responsibility for sport and an experienced Sporting Director. This maintains club stability and promotes success.

Would be better than Barry and O'Hare/Brooks on the wings compared to last week.

It’s graphics like this that would have been perfect had we been interested in a English goalkeeper circa 2000, when we could attract the headline

“Then bosh, here comes Seaman”

“Nils Zätterström and Ricardo Friedrich were absent from today's training because they are away visiting clubs, says Henrik Rydström”
