If my calculations are correct, over the last 6 games, we are averaging 1.33 points more than Peterborough. If that continues, over the next 13 games we would get 17 points more than them, with only 13 required at the moment.

Job done.

Does the play off semis clash with the cup final in any way?

Fa cup final 17th May.

Play off final 25th May. The week after. So I reckon play off semi 2nd leg is the Wednesday before the cup final.

Tough.

I can see what you did there an I like it.

EDIT: does your calculation allow for us having a game in hand?

I'm not sure anyone will be complaining too hard about that...

Of course we'll win one or more of those games. Our team need fear no-one at the moment. The last dire prediction about our fate at the hands of these footballing titans lasted just one match, our comfortable win over the mighty Peterborough.

I'm sure DP would have said we won't beat Villa, Fulham, Forest etc.

I've got news - we did. We will do just fine against the teams mentioned. Why? Our present team is at least as good and probably better than all of them.

We won't beat any of those teams?! What is your reasoning behind this? A month ago you would have said we would struggle to nick at draw at home to Peterborough and look how that turned out?!

Away to preston will be extremely tough, Wolves at the lane i really can not see us beating them, Rotherham at the lane typical Derby and Brentford is a real question mark game. I also believe the closer we get to the semi date the more players NC will rest. We also have Orient to play so all 5 in the top 5 and people say we will get 9 more points than Peterborough between now and the end of the season i really can't see it. NC said before Sunday said the cup was most important now, he will start to experiment with his team as the building starts for next season.

The fact is Peterborough are very inconsistent. We are the in form team with Wolves, if we play the same style we have been in the cup there is no reason why we can't win 3-4 out of the top 5. BELIEVE!

I agree, we have no reason to fear anyone. At the moment, we are one of the best 2-3 teams in the division.

However, I think it is now too late to make up the play off ground. We have your mate Weir to thank for that. If only we had sacked him 3-4 games sooner :-)

Have a look at my thread "Peterborough fixtures" of a few days ago.

I reckon P'bro' could lose 5 of their next 6 games, including tonight v Bristol city ( which I think they will lose). If Posh do win tonight though I personally think the game is up. Come on B City!!!

The question is could Peterborough lose 3 or 4 when we win, unlikely granted but not beyond the realms of possibility, consider 2 feb where we were and where mkplastics were, I for one hear no corpulent female singing just yet.
#daretobelieve

You know what, no one knows. Unless DP has a ball that is made of glass and can see stuff in the future.

Whats that, he hasn't? Bugger.

Its unlikely but wasn't it unlikely that we would be looking up the table rather than down it if you had asked us all a month ago?

I'm watching the text commentary of this instead of Bayern v Arsenal

I don't want to get in the play offs, safety was our aim and a cup semi to look forward to! I'm happy with that..
