Why, because expectations are different?Absurd comparison.
Funny that some managers can have some success elsewhere but not here.Because they haven’t been paying attention regarding the history of Sheffield United.
Only two people since 1990 have managed to get us promoted to the Premier League and keep us there.
One of them is the current manager.
If you want to swap and we’ll invariably end up with Robson, Adkins, Jokanovic, Weir, Clough, Blackwell, Adams appointments then be my guest.
We’ve had about 20 managerial appointment starting in the Bassett days and 20% of those have got us promoted to the top flight and only 10% shown an ability to keep us there.
All in all means there is every chance the next guy is part of the 80% that fail.
Under Wilder I can foresee we’ll always be competitive. Others have shown that isn’t a guarantee.
Should have been done last week as we were already resigned to play offs imo. As it is we get to watch Burnley fans celebrate promotion on Monday then get fucked by Coventry over two legs. Yet to some CW will still be the man for another rebuild.Lose today and I’d like to see him fucked off for cooper, we’d actually have a chance in playoffs
Can’t believe how bad Adkins was.Funny that some managers can have some success elsewhere but not here.
We could put this to the test and bring in the biggest manager we can afford who has a proven track record. And watch him fall on his arse.
It shouldn't be difficult to afford him because Wilder won't be wasting £10 -£20 million on the next player who doesn't fit into our "special" way of playing
I've always said that this club in unmanageable by anybody except a fan, it's a special needs club that is retarded with learning difficulties, only a fan can understand how it works.
Sounds fucking mental after a routine 2-0 home win but yes, I agree. I'm uninspired to the point of being bored witless and couldn't wait for the final whistle to blow so I could jump in the car home. Had the feel of a dead rubber this evening so maybe that's to blame but no one really seemed up for that today - players, crowd, opposition. All feels a bit stale and uninspired to me but appreciate I'm probably in a minority - nothing wrong with enjoying that today I guess. I feel very confused by it all.I think I'm at the point now where I feel it's best if a change is made in the summer. Whilst I believe the issues in our play at current could be easily addressed with a pre-season & the summer transfer window, I am more fervently of the opinion that the club needs a full reset away from the last decade of football. And Wilder is solidly part of that.
I do not believe that Wilder is a bad manager. His record demonstrates that that is not the case. However, I think the club needs fresh blood, who can come in and approach things from a different angle.
In another thread the other day, I mentioned how impressed I was with how Bristol City are playing under Liam Manning. I reckon he would be a really good fit for us. It wouldn't be too drastic a shift from how we're currently playing, to how he seems to like to set teams up. And with our new ownership, we ought to be able to fund a transfer window to enable him to bring targets in.
I'll forever be grateful to what Wilder has done for us, but I think that once the season is over, it would be best for everyone if he and the club were to part ways.
You really think that if we lost today we should have sacked Wilder and got in a new manager who doesn't know the club or the team? Just before the Burnley game? With autos still possible and if not, certain Play Off qualification?Lose today and I’d like to see him fucked off for cooper, we’d actually have a chance in playoffs

Errr….NoSo you’re saying people shouldn’t voice their opinions?

If Wilder went I presume all his staff would go too and Cooper's team be brought in. Most fans would oppose the sacking. Don't you think that might cause a bit of disharmony in the dressing room?
I've watched the Blades since the late 70s and I can count the number of good managers we've had on one hand. Porterfield, Basset, Warnock and Wilder. During this time we've had about 15 poor managers too, most of whom were sacked.
Even if we don't go up this season I'm happy with Wilder. At least we're competitive and challenging for promotion, and not in another relegation struggle. And we did the double over the pigs. What more do people want?
How's his cheap players (Campbell, Burrows, O'hare and Cooper) doing? With the amount of money he's spend you would expect us to play more exciting football but his big money signings have been disastrous. Without Hamer who was signed by Hecky we'd be struggling for the playoffs this season
They can, I'm one of them. Not every decision needs be broken down in such a binary fashion.Thing is, if someone thinks Wilder should go they will not accept someone's view who thinks he should stay and vice versa.
Easy to defend. He's our manager who knows a hell of a lot more about our players than you do.He wants to give Brewster and Robinson a new contract. Defend that?
Ok.He wants to give Brewster and Robinson a new contract. Defend that?
See where your coming from with morale but no way should they be getting new contracts.Ok.
He might have said it to keep moral up this season. Between the squad and for those two players.
Why the hell would you come and and say "I want Brewster gone" right before he starts the run in.
And if it is true they'd be on dramatically reduced terms, and 4th/ 5th choice.
How's that?
He wants to give Brewster and Robinson a new contract. Defend that?
Not so well at the momentHow's his cheap players (Campbell, Burrows, O'hare and Cooper) doing?
Or don't they count?
You think if Forest finish outside the champions league spots the Forest fans will want Nuno gone? He'd have bottled it, end of.
Extreme example but shows how absurd your black and white
It was crap boring again today as was most of these winsWell it's all about opinions i suppose.
Thing is, if someone thinks Wilder should go they will not accept someone's view who thinks he should stay and vice versa.
I am in the "He should stay" band because of the way he sorted out the crap in the summer and the signings he made.
We wouldn't be having this discussion if Soutter and Arblaster had stayed fit .
I can see the others points of view about not spending the Cannon money on a good centre half and they have a point but overall i think the guy;s done brilliant to get 88 points with 3 games to go.
Absolutely zero guarantee that those sides are in playoffs, check the fixturesI’d bust a gut to get him replaced before the playoffs. Going into the playoffs with him is waving the white flag, Bristol City or Coventry will beat us over 2 legs guaranteed. These players are better than they’ve showed this season. Not winning the playoffs is spectacular failure given our position less than a month ago.
He's clueless so boring to watchEasy to defend. He's our manager who knows a hell of a lot more about our players than you do.
I've felt apathetic all season mate.Sounds fucking mental after a routine 2-0 home win but yes, I agree. There’ll be some who want that, and they’ll want “proper” wards back in Fannie’s and Dick Wragg back in the boardroom. It's only a matter of time before some are clamouring for Billy to come back as gaffer.
