This thread is just typical. He doesn’t score = he’s crap. He scores = he’s brilliant.
First half of the season he was generally poor, looked league 1 standard.
Second half of the season he’s improved his levels and now you could even say he looks average Champiomship standard. He’s managed to score 3 goals but they’ve all been quite easy chances. He’s still not scored a difficult chance this season. Last nights chance was a good finish but it was central in front of goal, you would expect anyone decent to score from there.
His attitude is 1st class and like Sidie Peck, he’s likable and plays like he cares about Sheff Utd. Think this is massive because it builds a culture developing a special team spirit within the club.
Conclusion
I would offer him a contract but don’t think he’ll start hardly any matches in the PL. He’ll mainly be sub HOWEVER in the PL it’s 5 subs from 7…..so having a strong subs bench is really important and he’ll probably see some game time in virtually every match.
Also if and when we’re relegated….theres a chance if he continues his progress he could be an asset in 2 years time if we’re back in the Championship.
If we assume he’s on £35K to £40K per week, think we should offer £15K + bonuses, £20K tops. He’s a squad player so wouldn’t be too concerned if he stays or goes, however I like him, so would prefer him to stay but only at the right price.
