The fact he's part of the leadership group alongside Blaster and Robbo would suggest another reason Wilder wants him around next season

Brewster is doing OK now he's getting a run in the team and staying fit, his last 2 goals have been relatively easy imo , especially the Wendy one. For the fee we paid he should be ripping up this division now against some really poor opposition, I watched the game back against Coventry and he doesn't really do that much, it's just better than we've had from him up to now.so if Wilder wants to stick with him I suggest a one year contract with a one year option at reduced salary, he can't complain about the way we've stuck by him through his injuries and lack of form and who knows
I don't think Wilder takes any notice of what people say on here

Surely injuries don't make him shoot like he's never kicked a ball before or take up completely the wrong positions every time the ball comes into the box... He's done this consistently over 5 seasons

Let's be honest he was completely crap against Wednesday other than the goal and was lucky not to be subbed at half time.

He's hit a bit of form and playing like an average championship player but putting his career with us all down to injury is just ridiculous
Well last couple of games he's been in the right position in the box twice so that sort of negates your 1st point

Sorry my mistake he's brilliant, give him a 10 year contract

Barry Bananan has scored the same amount of goals as Brewster this season but got more assists... maybe we sign him to play in the prem too, chuck him a £30k a week 2 year deal

Agree when judging players most fans consider talent and ability
And let’s be honest until recently Brewster has been poor, even recently he’s been average/ OK (which is a massive improvement).
Last game was probably his best ever in 4 years but he wasn’t man of the match. It’s looking promising, his confidence is building.
Based on the Cov performance, he deserves to keep his place but I’ll reserve judgment on his ability until he’s played a few more matches.

However we now approaching the business end of the season when the pressure builds.
What you find is it’s so difficult to perform when under pressure, this is where character, leadership and mentality becomes more important than ability.
I’ve said Leeds are “the best team” based on ability but based on mental strength think United and Burnley are far better.
So I’d say Leeds are more likely to finish 3rd than us and Burnley but they still have time to bounce back.

When it comes to the hidden strengths of character and influence in the dressing room Wilder will know much more than us.
Many people ridiculed Brewster for being no better than “a cheer leader” in the early part of the season

But Wilder would probably say it was Brewster, sat on the bench, encouraging players that helps us win.
Also Campbell is currently in brilliant form but again Wilder might say, the reason is because Campbell feels wanted and loves it at the club
And it’s spending time with the likes of Brewster on the training pitch that’s making Campbell play better.

So in my view…..it’s Wilders choices…if he wants Brewster than I’m happy with it.
If he wants to get rid I’m happy with that too….and wish him the best.
People can rightly criticise him but you can’t deny he has excellent mental strength, workrate and team work, seems likable too.
Really pleased he’s won back his dignity, scoring the winner against Wednesday has earned him massive credit in the bank.

I'm sure you're on the wind up at this point. You've not taken into account the basics like number of starts, minutes played, etc.

You do know that he's not really been played as a striker that much this season?

To address several points mentioned, we have had 7 loans going back at the end of the season, potentially BBD signing for an agreed fee. We probably can look at the loan market for certain positions however realistically how much cash do we have to spend in the summer. Any “proven goalscorer” is straight away £10s of millions then we have our defensive issues to sort and also considering filling up the squad a bit. If Brewster is fit a 2 year deal is a no brainer as a “free” as unless we are magically pulling out £100million + the chances of staying up or even being competitive are very slim and Brewster knows the club and will be ideal for the Championship again. We are either Championship plus or Premier League minus stuck in a void with a few teams that we could break off and create our own mini competitive league. The bottom 3 of the Premier League plus the top 6 off the championship are competitive. The gap to 4th from bottom from Premier League is huge and takes someone to have a very bad season/points deduction to be anywhere near there.

Calling a striker who has 8 goals in 100 plus appearances "great" and BBD, a 25 year old who has 9 in 26 games for us, including 6 in the premier league, "a journeyman" suggest you are completely clueless or a pig fan on the wind up ....
[/QUOTE]

You're only happy when you're fucking whining and if you're doing it while we're doing well it would suggest that of the two of us, you're the fucking grunter.
